You're saying he can't make it at a big club because... he hasn't made it at a big club yet? Well give him a chance and we'll see. I'm not saying Defour is gonna make it at Madrid for sure, but to say he has no chance while he has excelled at all levels he has played at so far is just weak.
He sucks whenever he plays for the national team. He's also too slow (not that Alonso is fast, but still) and not creative enough in his passing to make it at Madrid.

He sucks because retard Vandereycken put him on the right side all the time while he is the prototype of a central midfielder. Yes Defour is slow, Xabi Alonso is slower, shows you that it isn't the most important thing at his position. Not creative enough? Not sure we're asking very creative stuff from a guy in that position.

Well first of all Iniesta and Xavi are 2 different types...

Xabi Alonso is sober player similar to Defour, though obviously on a different level. It's the typical Belgian mentality of thinking we're not good enough, that is the reason why Holland has a much better team and players & coaches make it at big teams, while Belgian players don't.

Netherlands have great players because of their excellent youth systems. We don't have that in Belgium.
Nearly every dutch player has excellent technique because of that. Not many HIGHLY technical players in Belgium are there? Not to mention tactical abilities..

That's why NL players are way better.

Btw when u say not much players get the chance in another league to progress..which implies most belgians stay in Belgium . When you compare the world ranking of belgium vs netherlands.....NL is so much better. Not that i'm a real fan of NL players.

Just..the more technical the better imo.

Sneijder cost you €28mil last year and you are selling him for €18 mil (wasn't he the next Di Stefano Gio?). Now you are prepared to pay €35mil for Alonso, who is not €17mil better than the Dutchman...

Madness reigns as usual in the capital.

it's 4 + 18 Alex.. with the current form due to injury it's just fair

It's not an issue of talent and while the Dutch youth systems are still superior, that gap is closing as well. It's all about mentality. I heard a lot of similar things when Fellaini was sold to Everton, hell Everton fans were all against the transfer themselves after hearing the reactions from Belgium. Now, he's a fan favourite and key player.

You've got Dembele, Vertonghen, Defour, Fellaini, Hazard, Witsel, etc
The talent is there, just need to shed that loser mentality.

Yep there is some good talent coming from Belgium just need to bring it on another level. Witsel and Hazard I think will be big stars.

The only belgian talents that could make it to a top tiers team are Dembele (need work though) and Hazard.
The rest is overrated, will do well at some midtable clubs of nice leagues but thats it

well...i don't rate Fellaini at all...he is quality for a good league yes but will never appear in top 5 teams of the world.
When i talk about quality i mean the real thing. As a mentioned Hazard f.e.

Witsel is so overrated, I can't deny he's a good player, but he'll never shine at the biggest stage.
Can't even score two penalties against STVV (a).

i rate Fellaini tbh .. i'm annoyed by his hair and if i was a defender i would probably grab him from his hair but i haven't seen a bad game for him with Everton .. he is really good IMO

this Generation is Belgium best talents since Scifo,JM Pffaff ..etc and it's really amazing the amount of potential arriving at the same point.. Belgium can go places next summer in the WC

Die glazen bol waarin je dat allemaal kan zien moet je me maar eens lenen, lijkt me wel handig.

All your claims are based on nothing else than your gut feeling... forgive me for not putting much weight into that.

lol, shall we make a list of top class players who have missed penalties on the big stage?

kerel...kunde nu geen talent spotten. Tis duidelijk dagge nen Madrid supporter zijt...

That's all I understood from that post.

the thing with wjesley is, he may just need time for his injury to fully heal to get his mojo back.

I hope he gets it back because I do like him as a player. has his head screwed on right (see his comments about his bro leaving ajax) and generally plays fair and such. him leaving is a boon to us because even as a squad member he would have given real some serious quality in depth.
