If Real Madrid really have signed Di Maria for €40m, then SCREW Real Madrid for inflating the transfer market AGAIN. Seriously, the price of DAVID VILLA for an unproven winger who has had 1 good season in PORTUGAL??
I mean, i do like him, but 40m is just utter stupidity.

mate... if you saw the entire season of Di Maria, here in Portugal... let me tell you one thing: benfica made the deal of his life!

I was watching a lot of the Liga Sagres since i follow Porto, and if you look at my comments about Di Maria on the Di Maria thread, you'll see that I value him as a talented young player.
But to equate him with David Villa is just stupid and yet another example of Real Madrid making life hard for the whole world. If Di Maria is worth 40, then Cesc is worth a 100 - do you get where i'm going?

Thanks Joao (which post ? )

Peter i don't think we will go splashing money this way and definitely not this season , look we could have the biggest restructure in our history which is something i'm totally against and i don't like the outcome of it .
we have 80 million this summer , if we spend 20-25 on Maicon , 14 or something on Koralov .. that's half the budget without raising a finger on the midfield dynamo position which we need .
today we asked Valencia how much they want for David Silva which could either rule him out or make him the front runner for the AM position .
there will be sales for some of the name and as Raed said it could get ugly so lets see what will happen , it's not like we go and offer 40 Million , we ask for a player and the club say not for sale you want X you pay his buyout clause

and I respect your opinions, especially when it comes to belgian football.
Sweet jab mate

but I know when you're being contrary and winding my fellow culés up. :D

(plus I'm in a bit of a mood due to lack of sleep, so I apologise if I was overly harsh)
We all know you got a point, I don't have the time to contribute properly so... this is fun occasionally.

your are going towards don't buy players who could be compared to players we buy cause we want to afford them ..
..
Di Maria is young and i'm all for paying arms and legs for promising hot shots like Di Maria than paying 40 + incentive for a 28/29 year old player
one will have his value increase in time the other will deteriorate in time cause he is a finished product (see Henry or Ibra or Kaka )

as far as i read, that rumor has its routs in england, "the sun"

Nope Sneijder rumor came from Sneijder himself , they asked him if we move back to Real he replied " move back to Real ? everything is possible but i haven't spoke to Mourinho yet

Well, of course it would be beneficial for Barca, but it is really irrational to make an offer of 40 mil. I know you didn't since you say you didn't. But. What i'm saying is that bidding 40 mil for Di Maria is about as stupid as bidding 100 million for Cronaldo. Sure Cronaldo is one of the best players in the world, but by bidding 100 million you set off spending all over the world that reached unethical levels, with so much money that could find better use, suddenly a single football player is being sold for 30 million where last year he would have gone for half that. What I'm saying here is that stupid spending leads to disproportionate, inflated demands.
Sure you can say his value is going to increase, he may become worth 40 million in the future. But Gio, seriously. If Di Maria goes for 40 million, then Hazard should go for 40 million, Pastore should go for 40 million, David Luiz for 40 million, Hulk for 40 million... That is just INSANE.
Yes, he is a hot prospect. But you know very well that 40 million is out of this world insane.
Look, if Di Maria goes for 40 million then Inter will have every right to demand 60 for Maicon, so not only will you be making life hard for Barca, you'll also be making it hard for yourselves.

Having said all of that, you've told me that it isn't going to happen - at least not as things look atm. But there is no way you can justify that much money for Di Maria.

Di Maria will become the best left winger in the world and is worth every single penny, to whichever club buys him.

Benjamin Aguero-Maradona will become the best striker that ever lived, he will be worth every single penny of the 180 million that whichever club spends on him.
You really don't get my point.
