Maicon is worth £7m net per year as its a double crossed sword. It moves Ramos to the centre, where he will be a beast of a centre back and will improve the central defense. Maicon on the right would give you lot an extra dimension going forward, plus he is solid as a mofo at the back. Maicon is the complete right back.

So I would have paid that, but if you don't have that cash then you don't have that cash. But if you sell VDV for £14m that's 2 years wages right there!

It would fuck the wages if no other player was at that level of wage structure. But you yourself said Casillas, Kaka and CR are at that level, so I would suggest that a player the calibre of Maicon should be able to be at that level. No?

I would really like to see Ramos as a centre back. Vidic would get found out in la liga. He is a phsyical beast, but mentally he can be got at and can't handle pace or supreme technique. You already have Pepe you don't need Vidic at the back to partner him, you need, especially in the CL, some pace in the central backline.

I think it's more about closing the damn lines instead of playing with 3 separate lines.. that's what kill Real in the CL .. it's forwards vs the defense with plenty of space

i agree...but neither is khedira who is asking for 7m € as well. both would fuck up the wages and both are not worth that much. the club will never get even half of that back in revenues. 6 years for khedira = 42m € + 10m € transfer fee = a total of 52m € give or take...how much of a bargain is he really in the end?!

same for maicon...would have been 30m € transfer fee + say 3-4 years = 21/28m € = a total of 51/58m € give or take.

better looks elsewhere, in both cases. carvalho is said to be first in line as maicon replacement. he has the experience mourinho wants and is rated at 6m € by chelsea.

Khedira will cost at least half if not more than Maicon and we will get 6-7 years out of him i'm all for the signing .
Maicon said on a radio station that moving to Real Madrid would be a dream come true and that he want to work with Mourinho again .
i guess he is trying to soften things after his agent demands and Real snub
