Khedira will cost at least half if not more than Maicon and we will get 6-7 years out of him i'm all for the signing .

the question remains...is he worth 6-7 years with the 7m € salary he is asking real madrid to match, resulting in a total of 42-49m € + his transfer fee?!

i'm all against the signing as long as it can only be concluded under this 7m € a year salary demand. if khedira & his agent come down to earth again, take a piece of reality and are willed to settle the deal on a much lower salary, then by all means make the deal. but if they stay firm, khedira can remain a rap-star for germany and be a rap-dj at chelsea or bayern. i seriously doubt these clubs, especially not bayern, are offering him a salary worth 7m € a year!!! IMO, they just want to f... real madrid and "milk the golden goose".

Yep, snubbed by Silva and Vidic, looks like the gloss is coming off Madrid.

Maybe too late, he said today he was actually happy staying with Inter, guess he has fallen out of love with the idea after being made sloppy seconds.

No, Bayern wont offer him 7M a year net, but they will prolly offer him a signing on fee of about 10-15M, the sum RM had to pay Stuttgart for this year. I guess his choice is actually whether he wants to stay for another year in Stuttgart (and missing the CL and prolly some titles for one more season) and then join Bayern, or already head for RM.

The thing is that Bayern will plan with him as keyplayer, as straight replacement for van Bommel, i.e. w/out much risk for him to play and develop into a world class player. At RM he is one of several midfielder who have to earn their spot, although its prolly more exciting to be there ofc ... but he can get screwed over there too. And idk if he has the class already to surely get into the team, while uncertainly for me being on the way getting to that level.

Is Khedira poised to sign? Thought it was practically a done deal a week or so ago
Khedira said today it's a dream to play in Real .. so i think it's a matter of selling first

not Really.. 4-5 defenders mentioned in the same name and David Luiz or Carvalho should do the trick ;)
at least we are not getting Yepes

He said today he wants to join Real and work with Mourinho

Given what Madrid are now going to have to pay for what will be their (atleast) 3rd choice defender, makes Yepes for free look like a master stroke. Besides, we have Silva who you bid for first and he told you he wasn't interested, so you can just look on and admire what we have and you couldn't get.

Maicon:

“If I stay I'll be happy because I have a contract until 2014."

Doesn't sound that eager to me.

Not really Sergio, first choice defender was based on their price cause we are short on cash this summer
so Thiago Silva was the cheapest option followed by Vidic who had one year left in his contract not according to their potential or skill ..sorry to burst your bubble .

lol @ Maicon again.. maybe u need to update yourself

"Going to Real Madrid would be a dream come true , I've worked under Mourinho before and i would love to play under his guidance again "
and it's not a report , it's Maicon own words on the radio ;)

yeah doesn't sound eager at all ;)

Not really, Silva is the best young defender there is right now, apart from Pique that is, but I doubt he will be going to Madrid anytime soon.

To try and claim he is some sort of cheap fix and isn't quality is simply wrong.

I'm not saying he is cheap but he is cheap in comparison to the others and also considering our cooperation agreement and first option deal signed last season .
Me not trusting Silva is my own opinion but clearly not my club

Carvalho would be an excellent acquisition imo.

He is too old that's the problem , some reports thrown the name Bruno Alves which IMO could be a good deal considering he played beside Pepe before .
of course all of this depend on the Maicon deal which still remain the first target as that would solve the defense position and we won't need to sign anyone in the CB position

I think your mistrust is unjustified, what more could you ask from a kid that was brought into replace Paolo Maldini, when the defence around him was falling apart and had injuries himself? To play as well as he did in those circumstances means he is due every bit of the credit he is getting. And given how he responded to the doubtless more lucrative move to Madrid, he showed himself to be a stand up man as well. I have no higher praise for him.
