Why are you not even thinking of a possibility that Mourinho adapts his coaching skills to Madrid and doesn't play too defensive ? You can even look at the defense and tell that it is not the one of Inter's or Chelsea's in their prime time quality. He can't rely on them, therefore he will need to take some work off them considering how deep the attacking side of the team is. Defence will still need to do their job, but Mou would be a fool to expect from them something they are unlikely to do this season. I think it is actually likely for Mou to set the midfield and attack up so they are the ones dominating the match and holding the team together instead of defence.

During the press conference Valdano said that Oezil is the last signing of this offseason. It's a pity that we didn't sign any decent LB, but now we're into the departures and have to accept another run-around with Messi.

You don't think it is a shame that La Liga has gotten so weak? It certainly dulls the competition in my view. Like I said earlier, the league will come down to two matches and that is a shame. It would be far better if Valencia, A.Madrid, Sevilla, Villareal and Getafe had stronger teams as it would make it more interesting.

Agreed. The league was far better when there was another side or two in the mix i.e. Valencia, Depor, Atleti etc.

Prestige of La Liga will not get better until sheiks buy out all the Malagas and Santanders and the merchandise together with TV rights and we, the supporters can't do anything about so why whine about the level of competition when there are better things to actually be bothered about.
It isn't so different from the Premier League apart of the fact that they have teams who are constantly considered as the teams who might threaten the top 4 and La Liga doesn't. We could go on about it for years, but again, who cares ?

Well why comment on something you don't care about? Although my preference is La Liga and I wasn't the one who brought up the comparison with the EPL but this year the EPL will be the most competitive for a long time and some could argue that it would therefore present the better spectacle. Frankly any football supporter that doesn't welcome competition is not a football fan in the general sense of the word. Sport is all about competition and having a weak league, which we will have this year, doesn't help your respective club either in the CL.

I am interested to hear what you consider are 'better things to be bothered about'? Could you please expand?

Wolfe is right though, there's nothing we can do other than wait for a billionaire to buy a team and make it competitive. People talk about collective TV revenue all the time but that actually won't solve the issue, instead of making the smaller teams stronger, it will make the big teams (the big two) weaker, yes that will mean more competition but is it necessarily good for La Liga? Things won't change for the better until Russian and Arab billionaires start taking over, and there's really nothing we can do about that.
On a related topic, didn't Malaga get a new Qatari owner? What happened to that?

You are taking my original point out of context though. I merely said that irrespective of how Jose lines his team up this year they will score lots of goals because it is a weaker league this year.
