Why is Jose not playing Arbeloa as the left back when he was really good there last season? Instead he plays Marcelo (wo is more suited to left midfield) and Drenthe?

Marcelo is not suited as an LM .. LWB more like it .. he needs space ahead of him cause he isn't that good in tight spaces .

and no Jose loves to have an attacking full back.. just look @ chelsea , Porto or Inter

sergio ramos is maicon
pepe is lucio
carvalho is samuel
marcelo is zanetti (this doesn't make sense because zanetti was more defensive for inter this year)

alonso is cambiasso
ozil/canales/kaka/VDV is sneijder
ronaldo is eto'o (doesn't make sense, eto'o always tracks back)
higuain is milito
and di maria/pedro leon/canales/ozil is pandev

So? Of course they will, succes comes in swings and roundabouts so i fully expect RM to have their turn in the sun soon enough and then the balance of power will swing again. No need to be so dramatic Valdano!

For someone living in Spain i reckon you either left or too obsessed with the subject you miss anything else.
Jose today morning said Arbeloa will be a CB sub till the defenders come back as he only has Ramos-Caravalho as CB..
so yes he will use Lass till any of the other 3 CB comes back..
