thats strange, i thought pepe was awful in the first half, if it wasn't for carvalho good positioning they could have been a couple goals down.

and yes it is obvious they cannot keep the ball for very long.

Higuain didn't see the ball due the entire team who played the last 2 games were tired (wednesday /Saturday) not because he don't see the ball or haven't you watched the last 2 games ?

He is actually holding the ball quite well last night was mistake from Jose who (like u said now ) should have played Pedro/Canales and the rest to rest the jaded players ..plus he looked torn between excepting Portugal role and the team needs.. for me the club should give him the chance it's just 2 games ffs and we'll only have 6 players left in those two games

di maria is a wonderful talent, never denied that, but he got in the way all game yesterday. him and CR both want to have the same role in the side and it's not a good mix. agreed that his goal has bought him some time because you do reward form, etc., and perhaps he'll come good but I dunno.

tired? oh come on, we're 3 games into the season! higuain didn't see the ball because reial's buildup play was disjointed, and he's not a classic #9 so you can't just hoof it to him either.

oezil continues to impress, but did get a bit lost in the second half.

no Meta they are tired cause Jose (his own admission ) training sessions are very intense ...and the Wednesday to Saturday is very little time
u can easily see they lacked the intensity and concentration of the previous 3 games (not to take anything from Sociedad they were great ) , Ozil was another example the kid was pretty exhausted

it was very lucky (not very good ) win ..
yes they offered him the job for two games and he said he can't say no to his country how can he go back to Portugal if he refused such honor.. etc he even said he don't want money .. it's down to Real and he understand the club decision to deny the Portugal FA their request

what if higuain swaps with ronaldo and ronaldo is the lone striker? for one or two games. higuain keeps possesion better (ronaldo recently just gives the ball away and does alot of stepovers) and this will help in the build up. ronaldo then just has to put the chance away. higuain has played wide areas before. look at all the positives:

build up is better
higuain sees more of the ball, increasing confidence
ronaldo will get some goals, increasing confidence

I mean it's a good win because IMO anoeta will not be an easy place to get a result this season. they're very tight unit and greaseman looks a right handful.

ahh I didn't know about the intense training sessions, hm, that could explain things. and yeah oezil started brightly and faded in the second half, which fits the idea of being tired.
