Renato Sanches

Am sure he did but ultimately he only has himself to blame. Jack Wilshere also had standout performances in the CL as a youngster.

Anderson came into a strong squad that would go on to reach back to back CL finals, winning one and dominate in the PL. Blaming Fergie or United doesn't cut it am afraid.

Sometimes depends on the type of player and role that it´s asked of him. Juan Veron was a great player but failed in United for the same reason: the system was not a fit to his skills.

It made no sense to buy a Ronaldinhoesque type of player and play him as a DM.

Haha I didn't know we got compensation. Anyway I think we paid 2 million in add ons for him as we won the CL.

He himself didn't won the CL ,so doesn't count under any circumstances
Scroll down the page ,I talked about the details of the add-ons in later posts

Sanches fee:
  • 35M€ base fee
  • 5M€ for 25 Portugal caps
  • 10M€ for FIFA World XI
  • 10M€ for last three of Ballon d'Or,
  • 20M€ for winning it.

source: SportBild

I'd be quite pleased with that if it's true

That's not bad. Certainly better than paying 5M€ for every 25 games or whatever that other source said. If he ever becomes top 3 player in the world then he's absolutely worth 60 or 80M€.

It's not bad because it Bayern. If it was Man. Utd who spent 40 M on a 18 yo unproved kid who played in the Portuguese league then they would have been made fun of (again).

I personally care more about players, than about fees. So if he turns out to be the prodigy the scouts say that he is, then business well done. If not, then 35/40m down the bin, better luck next time. I'm confident of Sanches though, not many times do you see a player Bayern purchased for 20m+ gone to waste.

I completely agree with you. 35-40 M for a club that's run so well and has so much money is nothing. It's a well thought about and calculated risk. I just hate hypocrisy, that's all.

Got slaughtered for 10+ pages when we signed Martial. Ruining football, disgusting club etc etc. Ive noticed a few comments here and there with Sanches but not in the same tone. The deal is even structured fairly similar. Football fans arent the most objective people on the planet
