Ronald Koeman

El Gato

Villarato!
He is an idiot. A grade-Stoichkov moron, shows as much in his pressers complaining about refereeing.

But he is your legend and most likely took the task because he loves the club and felt the sense of duty to come and have a go. Similar mindset to Zidane when coming back, but only one of them has gone into a place where he's not set up to fail horrendously.

So yeah - sympathise! He's a Cule legend sacrificing himself!

You idiot, only an idiot thinks that the opinion of a Real Madrid fan is important to us.

A Cule legend no doubt, but Bartomeu panicked after the 8-2 and picked the next former Barca legend he could find to take over that hasn't had a crack of the whip yet. The circumstances haven't been ideal but Koeman has already made several questionable decisions, that have only gone and made things more difficult for himself already and we are barely 15 games in. If history has told us anything about him, he is unlikely to think it may be his setup or personnel choice that is wrong.

Koeman is a big on attitude and desire type manager, and that's all well and good until you come up against a manager with tactical nous. Even the Cadiz manager was questioning his reasoning publicly.

Towards the end of his Everton tenure, his team was getting exposed and ripped apart at will and he changed nothing. Formation stayed the same, but several players were playing out of position all he could say was he couldn't fault their attitude week after week. He presented no solution or looked like he had any other solution to fix the problem other than praise their attitude.

We've already seen this on a few occasions here where in the last 10 minutes we throw on 3 new players and abandon any form of shape to try and get a goal.

In my opinion, it's he is a better Tournament manager than league manager and the reason why he's done well with the NT. Because even with disappointing league seasons at Benfica and Valencia he had good cup campaigns.

Can't describe how much I loathe a 3-atb formation. It's nothing more than a temporary "solution".
Can't win long term with 3 at the back. Sooner or later Koeman will have to find a formation that works, he's just delaying the issue.

Swept those scrubs away. He'll keep going with this formation until hitting the next bump, and then we'll be back on square one.

The man is high on life and looking forward to his xmas dinner.

Koeman: "We need to rest, we've played many games in a row and now it's time to have a break and celebrate Christmas. Happy Holidays to everyone!"

I'm gonna give Koeman a break a bit. See how we do in the next 2 months, culminating with the PSG game.

Top 4 wasn't in doubt for me even when we started very badly. We'll easily make it, this isn't EPL. It's important to at least compete against teams that are better than us currently.

I think when plan A works Koeman is perfectly fine. It's his decision making when we are chasing the game that can be baffling at times.

This.

The set up seems especially vulnerable, too. Shut down Messi which is not as tough as before and that's all folks. De Jong and Pedri would need to step up big.

I am supportive of Koeman but you are setting yourself up for disappointment. PSG is huge favourite for me against Barca.

They will probably win, but if we don't run them close it's gonna be bad for Koeman. On the other hand, if we do knock them out, it's probably the biggest, most notable victim since... well... PSG and that famous 6-1 .

In Ligue 1 this season, their results vs Lyon, Marseille, Monaco, and Lille are 0 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses. They have their fair share of weaknesses too.

He is an average manager but what works for him is the fact that he is a bonafide legend and strong personality.
That instantly garners respect from the players.
So far I'd give him 6.5 out of 10.
