Ronald Koeman

Whoever comes in would rather watch a young Barca that can grow into something than yet another year of old players that cant run causing a failure of any basic formation and tactical approach.

Rather have a young Barca battling for top four than another season of this of how this one ended.

The power those old amigos have over this club is not like anything have ever seen.

At first it looked like it was gonna be that type of season even with Koeman.

So, how do we view this season in the end?

First season in the rebuilding phase, or the last season from the old-core running things?

Neither, a season inbetween, just as it was meant to be.
Next season should be the first of a rebuilding phase, with the correct president at place, a long term option on the bench, starting to shape the future squad.

Yes, but these 3 had insane success right off the bat. Winning trebles and CLs. Nobody expects Xavi to do that. It's impossible. Simply making this team competitive in Europe and challenging for the title in Spain, while not looking like clowns in derbies would be great.

Then, as the confidence is building and hopefully we can make some marquee signings as well, we can expect and demand big titles. Or at least CL semis and such.

Still really high expection. Compete at Europe and Liga. Not to mention the pressure on Laporta if there is no result from Xavi.

It was half way with Koeman and this squad as battling for top four but with old legs still there.

There has been progress made with some of the younger players and experience they have to take into new season but reverting back to likes of Pique in formation like that was crazy.

Barca have been far worse with Pique in the team this season and it is not even close.

Depends also on AM and Real Madrid. Maybe Madrid is signing Mbappe. If they strengthen the team, we'll have problems matching that with the finances we have. If the teams stay roughly the same, and we keep Messi, I think we can even win La Liga.

If Messi goes, we bring nobody of note, and Madrid sign Mbappe for example, the whole expectations are changing too.

For me, what I want to see is young players playing, and being supported by a manager with modern football tactics. And a selection of mature players at their peak or even a bit past it leading by example in terms of effort, passion, and work-rate. These players don't have to be world-beaters. Just good, dependable players, with experience at the top, like Depay for example, or even Wijnaldum (if the numbers make sense) are.

I'm sure there are good players out there, on every position, who don't cost an arm and a leg and who don't appear on the front pages of every newspaper. We've been blind to these players under the idiot Barto & Co., but right now, this pool of players is where we need to be picking the best qualty/price ratio signings from.

For all the damage Barto did, the amigos are certainly a close second in terms of responsibility for our current situation...

Bartomeu tried to buy loyalty and respect with money and enabled some of the players. He's at fault by far. I'd blame some of the players for being oblivious to how shit they are, but Barca have moved on from club legends twice in the last twenty years, yet seemingly poor Bartomeu is the only one who has gotten railroaded by these amigos?

I don't buy it. Bartomeu was a clueless piece of shit.

We've not been able to win the crucial games. The team crumbles in the games that really mattered most. We won 16 out of 19 games between mid December and late March playing good football. Thats when we re-entered the title race.

Even after the clasico loss, we win another three straight including away to Bilbao and Villareal. After that, we then lose to Granada with first place on the line. After that another W at mestalla but since then it's been downhill.
