Still really high expection. Compete at Europe and Liga. Not to mention the pressure on Laporta if there is no result from Xavi.
Depends also on AM and Real Madrid. Maybe Madrid is signing Mbappe. If they strengthen the team, we'll have problems matching that with the finances we have. If the teams stay roughly the same, and we keep Messi, I think we can even win La Liga.
If Messi goes, we bring nobody of note, and Madrid sign Mbappe for example, the whole expectations are changing too.
For me, what I want to see is young players playing, and being supported by a manager with modern football tactics. And a selection of mature players at their peak or even a bit past it leading by example in terms of effort, passion, and work-rate. These players don't have to be world-beaters. Just good, dependable players, with experience at the top, like Depay for example, or even Wijnaldum (if the numbers make sense) are.
I'm sure there are good players out there, on every position, who don't cost an arm and a leg and who don't appear on the front pages of every newspaper. We've been blind to these players under the idiot Barto & Co., but right now, this pool of players is where we need to be picking the best qualty/price ratio signings from.
