I'll say it again - looking back, we were better off by keeping Valverde and sacking him now, since we missed the Liverpool disaster train.
We paid compensation for Setien, now we'll pay it for Koeman.

I believe there's a stipulation in Koeman's contract where a new President can release him from his contract without paying a compensation. Will see if I can find the source.

My version

Pep~Lucho>Reejkar>>> Valverde >>>>>> Tata > Koeman=Setien.

Huh, tata so bad yor you ? We played nice football in the first half of 13/14 and has lost la liga title in the last matchday against best atletico of last 10 years and cl winner real madrid because of a offside goal from messi which wasnt offside. Copa was lost in a close final 2-1 and cl also closely against Atletico. We had won El clasico in bernabeu 3-4 and in camp nou 2-1. We had also the worst Messi ever and tito had died.Under these circumstances i wouldnt say valverde was so much better than him.

For all the damage Barto did, the amigos are certainly a close second in terms of responsibility for our current situation...

This. These fucking amigos owned Barto and half ran the club. This squad is utter shit. People can blame Koeman all they want but even Tuchel, Klopp and Pep would struggle with this squad. Mentally they are sooo poor. They are beyond help. Terminate all the amigos. Let Messi do what he wants.
For the love of God don't bring in Xavi. We would waste 2-3 precious seasons just because Laporta thinks he's the answer. Xavi would be an absolute bust here. Laporta is stuck in the past. Time to get a world class coach with long term vision who understands that defense is part of the game. A very important part.

The team picked enough mid season to secure la Liga he miss managed everything so we are back to the looser mentality.

I'm sorry unless you are blind but EV is way way better than Koeman.

Shitverde was the one who introduced the looser mentality. No intense training, cl humiliations and then days off to players for embarrassing losses.
Barto and Shitverde should be in jail.

So, how do we view this season in the end?

First season in the rebuilding phase, or the last season from the old-core running things?

The former obviously, despite some old-core toxic players - like Pique- still having leverage to start games.
Depends though on next season.
The first phase of rebuilding should be followed and built upon, rather than going on different direction.
Hence not Xavi or other experiments.
Koeman to continue and to be given more authority on ousting seniors.
Next summer hire a WC coach that might be available to take it to the next level

What makes you think Koeman even want to get rid of the senior players? He could have decided to bench and not play Pique like Lucho did. He could have decided not to insert Sergi Roberto into the lineup as soon as he became available, yet he did.

He could have decided to tell the club to sell Coutinho last summer, but he didn't because he saw him as essential to his project. Not my words, but Koeman's and Coutinho's. Not to forget he actually told Pedri he should have gone on loan too, but the club intervened and kept him because they didn't sign Wijnaldum as Koeman wanted.

How can you say with confidence that Koeman is the right man to start a fresh project?
