Ronald Koeman

This was what I saw:
Laporta: "Yesterday, Koeman gave us a worrying fear. He had to go to the hospital. But luckily everything is well. I told him to calm down and take it easy."
So obviously I don't have the full quote. Please transcribe the bit about the heart if you have it at hand, I won't watch the video myself today.

Taken/going, an honest mistake. I have no idea and didn't consider the difference, but sure. Anyhow, I very much doubt it was a regular test. Panic attack/MI as differential diagnosises probably, so he wanted in quick.
Joan, talking about his previous period obviously.

I can't really transcribe his speech to the letter since I don't speak Spanish. Relying on the official translation from the American interpreter, Laporta said "there were things that came out that were concerning for us" before he mentioned Koeman's health scare, so perhaps that's the "worried" part that you refer to.

Anyways. Differing opinions but I still believe Laporta should not have mentioned that, especially when nobody asked him about it.

Koeman said throughout his coaching career that he would never say no to Barca when te opportunity comes,

And yet, he said no when he was a highly coveted young coach with Ajax while Barca was struggling club. And was said to the same man who takes decision today.
I applaud Koeman for his work, but Laporta hardly owns him anything if we are being honest

Tw Koeman: "Don?t believe anything you hear. I am healthy, that?s all that matters in life! 🙏👍" [@RonaldKoeman]

Stunning! Even Koeman calling Laporta a liar. No way he continues now

Looks to be a different translation of the same passage I quoted, yes. Nothing about the heart?

This was all over the news 20h or so ago. Would be more strange to talk a lot about Koeman and not mention a word about it. I only saw him mention just a word about it so I think it was fine, but if it indeed was as Koemans agent said that it was just a routine test before traveling, Laporta looks like a fool yes.

What it very much looks like now is Koeman and his agent wanting to hide that he thought he had a serious illness, lying blatantly, and his people putting up sarcastic tweets they later remove... I think they look to be losing their heads to be honest.

See, that?s all Koeman had to do. Should have done it several days ago to avoid miscommunication and fake news. Now, whether it?s the truth or not is another story....

Laporta did mention it was a "heart" issue during the presser, at least that's how the American interpreter translated.

That I don't know. No matter what that nature of Koeman's health issue is, I think they have every right to be upset.

Besides Koeman's long history and record as a club football manager more than enough suggest he's unfit to lead Barca. :coffee:

Ok. Heart is corazon in spanish, if you want to listen for it yourself :)
As the news about the situation had been out for a while, it may just have been the interpreter himself explaining the situation.

We don't know what the nature of it is, this we know
 • he had a heart attack one year ago
 • he visited the hospital yesterday
 • the newspapers said it was a panic/anxiety attack
 • Laporta said they were worried about him but that he's fine
 • Koemans agent said it was just regular testing
So either Laporta was completely wrong to worry, and the papers mentioning anxiety attack were completely wrong, or Koemans agent is blatantly lying.

If it was a suspicion of a new heart attack, that luckily was just psychological, I understand how a very weak person (not leader material) might like to hide that, but to outright lie about it is wrong.
For Laporta to say what I quoted is completely fine in my opinion.

If we are going to be ruthless with players.. It's only right we be ruthless with the coaching stuff and the upstairs management. Time to go koeman.. Thanks for your service.
