Some of you guys are incredibly delusional.

Yeah we suck compared to the elite, but we're not EL level. No doubt we'd be Europa Conference League level if some of you were in charge of the club though.

Chelsea were Europa League material 2 years ago though .

You can play in EL, then in 2 years bam, make some good deals, bring in an elite manager and you win the CL. That's how it is these days. Big teams have problems, it's an open field really.

A bit different with Chelsea having a billionaire owner ready to invest a lot of money into the team.

I think we can get back to being a serious contender if we hit on 3-4 transfers and hire a manager that can lead a new project successfully, but all the fuck ups of the last few years means it's going to be really tough to do that with no money available.

We can thank that idiot Barto for that for leaving the club in ruins with his brilliant vision.

Besides, Laporta is doing his best to get us excluded from CL so we will rebuild in peace .

If rebuilding in peace and the shadows is the plan then he's off to a bad start with the current mess with Koeman lol.

Need to decide what to do with this ASAP.

You're welcome
Honestly, I believe current squad could be contender for CL, only if players were pushed to their limits. To me biggest issue still is players regard Barca a holiday destination which is a result of the organizational culture. I only trust Frenkie, Mingueza and Ilaix to be giving their all during training.

Even if the current squad performed at their best I don't think it gets past a QF.

You had Messi having one of his best seasons ever and we still got fucked in the return leg in Anfield. I know there was no Frenkie there, but Pique, Busquets, Alba, ter Stegen, still have a few players who just collapse.

Of course they could win.
Since a couple of years they are no longer favourites, but Tottenham almost won that same year, or Ajax for that matter. Chelsea won yesterday... Of course Barcelona can win, nevermind reach the semis. It's about being in good form when it matters and facing the right teams at the right time. There is no team that current Barcelona cannot beat over 2 games.

To win CL you need leaders on the pitch. Players with personality and intensity who give their all and put their bodies on the line.
None of the current players fit that description. Arajuo, Mingueza and De Jong have some intensity but Noone else.
The players need to be clutch especially defense and goalkeeper. Ter Stegen is hopeless and we are not replacing him so there's one incredibly weak link in the chain.
It's about character. Having players and a manager with the right attitude.

No they cant. To win it you need solid defense and little bit of luck.

Barcas defense and goalkeeper are completely shambolic.

BTW i blame ter stegen for the liverpool defeat. All 4 goals should have been saved. Maybe 3.

Spot on. Bad defense is why we will never stand a chance. That's the first thing we should fix.

You can win with flaws in the squad, but you also need some strong points that will elevate the team. Those are a couple of leaders, some world-class players (even two would do), and a top 5 manager. We don't really have those strong points yet.

Chelsea have the best midfielder in the world in Kante, 2-3 top-class youngsters like Mount and Havertz, some leaders like Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva, and a world-class manager.

We're not there yet, but we can be if we play our cards right in the next 2-3 seasons.

This team has been on end of some of the heaviest defeats in its history in the last 3-4years. One of the reasons we keep getting smashed is because of deluded thinking that current core and style is still good enough.

The team consists of Pique, Alba, Busquet, Umtiti, Lenglet, Dembele, Griezman, Roberto, ter Stegen, fking Braithwaite is no CL contender, half of the team is high paid finished dinousaurs and some injury prone divas and the whole defence with those name is simply just a joke

That core has won it thrice some of them, many have won at least once.
The "style" hasn't been a style that suits these players since Tata, or at least since Enrique. We saw a few games under Setien as well.

Btw if Liverpool smashed Barcelona, Barcelona smashed them just about as well in the 1st leg - and they later won the final as well as you know. Small margins.

Liverpool had plenty of chances in their 3-0 defeat and their comeback was without their two best forwards.
Talking about style every manager will have their own little tweaks. Pep and Cruyfs teams are probably regarded as the purest versions of the style that fans want.
