Samuel Umtiti

Umtiti has analyzed the Newcastle offer, but his entourage says he's in the best physical shape of his life and is fully committed to starting for Barca again. Nobody in the history of sports, not even MJ or Tom Brady, was this committed and determined. He practically wakes up and goes to sleep only with this in mind, coming back to 2017 form again. [sport]

:lol::lol:, that guy is just cruising with Barca's resources

One option, I suppose, would be to terminate his contract, and negotiate a payment plan for the next 2-4 years of his salary.

Newcastle appear to be linked with any player that Barca want to move on. Reports of a 17m bid (Sun, Marca) etc.

Why would a player want to leave Barca and live/ play in Newcastle even if his salary was tripled?

Fucking Newcastle! I don?t think we?ll be able to move Umtiti on unless we agree to cover a portion of his wages, unfortunately.

Barca would do that no doubt just to save at least some money but he won't go anywhere. He has no sporting ambitions anymore and prefers easy life style in Barcelona doing nothing than going somewhere where he would actually play. He'll continue to milk the club next 18 months then probably go to retire in MLS where some club would still think he's a great player and overpay him.

From that view it's actually understandable why he wants to stay not just to collect his pay check for 1,5 more years but also to guarantee himself a bigger potential contract in future. If he'd go somewhere now and get exposed how done he is then not even MLS clubs would offer him much when he'll become available.

True! I feel that Barcelona should study personality and character more carefully before signing on these players or giving them inflated contract extensions In the case of Dembele, for example, there were red flags on the wall before we had even signed him. Now the club hierarchy feels betrayed. If you play with fire, you will get burnt.

Another option would be to terminate his contract. Here again, his consent would be needed.

He was the model professional when he came. That's why he replaced Mascherano so quickly. He was outstanding for a season and a half and the injury and new contract screwed us. Now he's just milking us. We should negotiate a settlement and terminate his contract. Pay him over a thirty year period.
