Sergio Aguero

When Pep wants a player, he gets him. If we didn't get Aguero, its not because we couldn't afford him, its because Pep knows whats best for this team.

Who says that we should buy him? I am only saying that he could play in the same position as Villa and Henry did for us.

Villa's funeral took place the day after the CL final last year. He has not recovered since.

----------Balotelli/Dzeko

------Agüero
---------------------------Silva

-----Milner/Nasri--Yaya---------

That is pretty much how City lineup every single time when most of their players are fit.

Agüerro rarely plays as a regular CF. And when that happens it is usually next to Silva and Johnson who operate as inside-forwards/wingers and Yaya Toure as the box-to-box midfielder who makes the attacking runs inside the box which makes the attack pretty fluid.

But we are talking about Agüero not Llorente. I am pretty sure that Agüero would be able to replace Villa as the inside-forward/"winger".

Aguero does build some of his attacks from deep left but roams a lot. And width is usually provided by one of Kolarov/Clichy or Nasri/Milner. How Villa plays for us, is entirely diff to Aguero's role for city.

Well in theory it SHOULD be that but it has not always occured in practise. Neither Agüero, nor Villa or Henry for that matter are natural fits when it comes to that position.

Aléxis is a MUCH better fit as well as Neymar.

But at the end of the day I would not rule Agüero out at all. Sure he is not a regular winger but who has claimed that? As a matter of fact we have not used regular wingers since the days of Overmars etc. Could Agüero play a similar role to that Villa and Henry had? Yes why not?

Nobody says that they should play in the exact same manner. When you have an atttacking force made up by Messi, Aléxis and Agüero they are bound to create fluidity. And as we all know Pep is not the type of coach that sticks with the one and same lineup/playing style.

People talk about width but Sanchez isn't really a natural wide player either. At Udinese he flourished playing behind Di Natale in the centre of the pitch:

Same for Chile:

This has even been a talking point when we showed interest in Sanchez. That he might not be the right man for the wings. Some people seem to have not noticed yet but Pep plays him as a CF too most of the time. His best games for us came from the centre of the pitch. As a finisher, running off the shoulder of the centre backs. His Leverkusen goals? His Real Madrid goal? On the wing he often looked isolated up until now.

The chance to get him has long passed. When he was still at Athletico and worth 35mil it would've been easy, but you guys got Cesc instead
