Sergio Busquets

If you watch Busquets he actually has a quick look back as if to think "ok my space is covered" and justify not trying to get back. Then Pedri goes to press the Bayern player as he should if he is playing midfield in a trio. But there is nobody covering him.

Then Gavi (obviously coz it is Gavi) reacts and tries to recover the space, and would probably have succeeded had he not run into the Bayern blocker.

You just know that if Frenkie was Busquets in that situation, that he would publicly lambast what happened.

That's called a school boy press. One where the goal is a direct result of a defensive player pressing so far out of position that it concedes a goal through a gaping hole left.

Yea the biggest issue their was that no one covered the space, like you said gavi tried to but couldn't.

He should definitely get called out, much like Frankie would have been, but a DM moving up the pitch and leaving is position is done by the very best DM, fabinho does it Pretty much every game.

Some wether is be a midfielder or the CB stepping up should have covered that space.

If they can get someone in January they should probably consider that too. Especially if our salary cap right now is high and is expected to go down again next summer with Tebas and La Liga fooling around.

Question is who? Because Zubimendi doesn't convince me at all.

This beast was available for just 15m a month ago.

He's been physically shot for about 5 years, however he now can't pick a pass under pressure at all.

And it's not like he's trying anything too risky in the pass selection, just flaps at the basics.

No by far the biggest issue is the brain dead decision by the DM to totally vacate his area of park and jog towards the CBs of opposition. He is not even pressing there.

Go read Peps quotes about how much Rodri improved once he learned how DM should play.

Trying to hard to make out Busi with his shite defending and woeful passing played well.

No coach will be looking at the other players failing to cover a player making such a poor decision as being the main problem. Those other players are left exposed by Busi and problem starts there.

Looks bad, but he was "pressing" the Midfielder with the ball up the pitch, tactics would dictate someone would fill that spot, but I guess the DM never leaves the front of the defenders in today's game
...

But it's bad. He's not the only one at fault there though.

Who told him that he ahould be pressing the CB's.

He is a terrible ball winner and too alow to get back.

Let Gavi do that

Haha fucking peach.

Ach well fuck positions and make it a free for all.

The CBs should just start fucking off up the park and pressing with the strikers... it is more the fault of others not to cover them if results in a goal

The utter dirge that usual folk come out with on here is taking new lows.

But but 'Busi played well the comms said so'.

Funny thing is even if Frankie started he would probably also have been out of position lol , we are doomed haha.

Busquets also saved a goal in the first half when he ran from bayerns box to ours to make a tackle, by 60 minutes his legs are gone though.

He also almost gave them two goals in his evry game 'give away ball on edge of box bonanza'

Busi was pish in first half. Passing was terrible, could barely move to get on it and gave away ball in bad positions.

As said for years he will get tackles as he goes hunting ball and vacates area and some seem to think that make a good game.

He was probably better after 60 mins as Bayern stopped pressing and he could walk about and get on ball without fucking up under pressure or not even being able to get on it in first place.

Don't know who he is, but we need someone who can pass the ball under pressure and between the lines as well as do well physically in games like this.

Try to catch some Monaco games this season if you have time. He's a true midfield general imo, played well in his Monaco's debut against PSG and also very good against Bayern in CL last season.

Pretty sure they'll sell him for 60m+ in a year or two but most likely EPL bound imo.

Sergi "No liability pressing" Busquets.

Imagine pressing so high up the pitch yet knowing you can not get back. The Ancient Ones of old would know their limitation and hang back.

It is a joke to call his little amble towards the CBs a 'press' in first place. Its just a moronic vacating of position that served no purpose and he could well have got back in to middle of park to help anyway but he cant physically do it.

He and Xavi have go to point they think Busi can do whatever he wants on the pitch and is fault of others if can react to it.

No other player is afforded that same protection and for good reason.

I think Frenkie will get another chance again as the CDM in one of these next two CL games vs. Inter.
