Some nice interceptions and game reading.

With current setup, best thing is to renew him, he can play one more season, until we buy CDM.

They fucked up by not replacing him last summer when had money.

Now it seems wont have.

Play Busi in Europe next seasons and he will have same weaknesses.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
He wasn't thaaat good. Madrid passing was terrible and with the parked bus a lot of balls just landed at his feet, which he then proceeded to give away. The last 10 minutes of the first half were painful to watch, missing pass after pass.
He still needs to go, he is really dragging us down despite the odd decent game.

How is he getting this much praise?

Would've loved to see prime Busi in yesterday's game just to see how easily he would beat their intense pressure. But yesterday he looked incredibly slow, a weak point when we had the ball.
Can tell what he wants to do but unfortunately his legs just cannot keep up with this pace anymore.

Yet we beat Real Madrid away again in the space of a few weeks with Busqs being the focal point in both games . Granted he gave the ball away a few times but so did Modric and Kroos . Modric even resorted to kicking Busqs up in the air on two occasions .

So yeah he is in decline but he was still making crucial tackles and interceptions in the 85th minute and then played a fabulous long ball over the top

He's not utterly worthless as he's proven, but he's a liability and has been for the past few years.

sighh....lets sacrifice the game for 1 past it midfielder and concede possession to the opposition for the rest of time because we beat a very poor Madrid side on the night.
If we played like that against decent opposition in most games we'd end up losing so please don't fucking use this game as any sort of justification to renew Busquets.
WE were not good, Madrid were not good, it was a terribly low quality game in which we had 2 fucking chances and scored 1.

That poor Madrid side just slaughtered Liverpool away ?

FDJ and even Kessie got praise after yesterday. Madrid was not as poor for them?

Liverpool have been incredibly poor this season. They were freaking 9th? at the time... Teams much worse than Madrid have beaten them this season.

They're not up for contract renwels and aren't 3000 years old. No ones going around asking to extend both of them based on this single performance. What's more absurd is that they're still. Willing to renew regardless of how many times his limitations have contributed massively to the numerous loses and humiliations incurred on the European stage.

That's also ignoring how many minutes he plays...

Edit: I'm not here for that shit.

Flip side is also true. This Liverpool beat City at home while keeping a clean sheet, and Madrid ruined them.

This Madrid is a top team. You need to play smart to beat them or you will lose. There's not a team around atm that can bully Madrid and trash them. Most that try get spanked. Let's be honest here, it's not like there's an elite team around that can attack Madrid at will. Most big teams in Europe if not all are good, but in an ordinary flawed way.

Makes our financial issues even harder to accept. If we had the funds to accelerate this rebuild by injecting 150-200m in this summer to fix our 3 big issues (DM, LW, RB), we'd be in the mix for a treble next season, as crazy as that sounds.

Every other component in the team is shaping up nicely. Manager seems skilled, Laporta is in a different league compared to clowns like Bartomeu, young players develop at a fast rate, attendance in record numbers again and so on.

The only problem is the squad is very short, and if injuries appear (which always will when you fight on all fronts), the replacements are Celta Vigo level with 2-3 exceptions.
