Sergio Busquets

Doesn't matter. Put Samper there.

Having players failing to show up and fight for their shirt is unacceptable.
Someone said they have it tough after winning so much, it gets boring. Let them try a real job for a week doing same things from 9-5 for a fraction of their salary. And then complain.
It's pathetic.

And I'm not blaming the players really. They are bunch of half-literate kids earning millions.
It's the manager's job to keep them in check and follow his orders.

Yeah I agree. I mean, when players say it gets tough after winning everything, i'm like wait WTF? WTF does that even mean? How can you get tired of winning? That's bullshit. You didn't see Tiger Woods, Schumaker, Michael Jordan get tired? I mean they might be playing in different/individual sports but WTF does no more motivation mean? You're doing what you love, earning MILLIONS, being adored by fans, getting recognition, fame, adulation, titles, etc. Don't you god damn tell me it's hard to put it effort cause you've won so much. That is one of the cheapest excuses you can possibly throw.

First of all I agree with you... But let's say Tata decides to follow this plan and plays Samper and a bunch of subs and B-teamers to try to wake the stars up... Imagine all the shit he'd get if we draw or lose a game, something even worse of what happened against Sociedad...

Do you think a player like Xavi would take that as motivation, because I highly doubt it... Pulling a move like that is asking for a mutiny in the dressing room, and eventually getting sacked, it'd be suicidal in every single way...

Also that's what happens when subordinates (players) have higher wages and more power within the club than the boss (coach)...

We can promote Samper now to bench Busquets. He wouldn't do worse than Sergio actually does I believe.

Seriously you want a 19 year old samper to play DM? This is no longer guardiola era

I thought the same. The coach has to motivate the players somehow and benching them would be one way to do it - it would send a strong signal to players who take their spot for granted. Look at Bayern, they have 20 world class players and everyone has to work his ass off to be part of the line-up in the following match.

Pep had a similar problem in his last season here and he benched the likes of Pedro and Alexis for Tello and Cuenca.

It's not about Samper replacing Busquets in the starting line-up. It's about telling Busi that his performances as of late have been unacceptable. I reckon he would play better if he was reminded that he's not an automatic starter regardless of his performances. I remember it worked wonders with Dani last season.

Xavi should get a lot less minutes next season. I can't see us getting Yaya but if a move was made, there would be a good amount of minutes available as long as the manager was willing to finally give Xavi a limited role to keep him fresh. Yaya could play as both a DM and a CM. He might not even be bad as a CB. :pep:

Samper needs to be promoted not to bench Busqueets, but to actually have the option of a DM on the bench. Real Sociedad game killed any chance of Song being able to even give Busquets a challenge for his spot. So in the summer, Song out, Samper in. Busquets gave Yaya the push to do that excellent 08/09 season. Maybe Samper now can do the same to Busquets.

Lol! And ou think having a young unproven DM on the bench will help. You think he will be better than song?
Not every la masia youngster is a xavi or busquets! And this is not 2008-9 when there was not much to lose, the team was coming from the third place, was getting restructured. Now the demands are bigger and a tiny mistake which leads to conceding a goal or loss of points will help kill samper's dreams completely

Every big player was an unproven youngster on the bench at some point. Saying the club was less demanding in 08/09 than it is now is complete bullocks as well. People were calling for Pep's head after 3 games.
