Busquets has been also poor between second half of Tito's year and Tata's season. for a full year and half that was the last year and half of Xaviesta
After Lucho joined he regained his form and he was by far our most consistent midfielder until late in last season.
Our system under Lucho depends on him more than any other player. even when we miss one of MSN our system still operate the same even if less strong but w/o Busquets in form our midfield isn't half good

Absolutely on point.
The sad part is I fear he will not improve or adapt to our current attack minded play pattern, just like he still can't jump.
When the wing back joins the attack and we get hit on the break, all we have is Busi > Pique > Masch/Umtiti left.
He isn't physically strong or fast enough to play the sweeper role and cut off the attack on time so he just back pedals.
He is more of a CM turned technically gifted DM.

He has been terrible season long.
It all started during the pre-season and has only deteriorated even further.

Not at all. When playing our proper Barca system he's the perfect CDM controlling and passing with ease. At the moment our midfield lacks control and confidence, he's been put under way too much pressure every game which we don't usually have.

He's in a bad form, but rewatching the highlights of some of the games, he has an enormous amount of space to cover with the way we're playing right now.

Putting Mascherano there wouldn't solve anything as he's even worse than Busquets under pressure as a CDM, and with the opposition pressing him and the amount of space he'd have to cover, even he would struggle big time.

He's a joke, look at him in that 3rd goal, Gomes returned and found himself between Aguero and De Bruyne, tried to press on Aguero and let De Bruyne alone and Busquets is still on his way lol, Umtiti saw De Bruyne alone and pressed on him and all the Defense is f***ed up because the genius Busquets is still on his way to mark De Bruyne or even do anything in that counter, he's disgusting

Trying to do suicidal things on the edge of your own box is putting too much pressure on the back four and the keeper which he seems to do every game.

Get him out of there, he is a liability.

The opposition press him because he dwells on the ball and then plays for a free kick and the refs have caught on to it. Our poor defence has no chance with opposition attackers blowing past him with consummate ease. He needs to be dropped.
