At this point, we just need a DM with legs that can make a safe pass. Even if FDJ or Kessie or anyone else is average/bad at DM they at least don't leave a black hole in midfield in transitions.

Currently most if not all of our goals conceded, on replay, feature Busquets in the opposing half as the other team counter attack running through a gaping hole in midfield. On offense he doesn't add that much any more either other than cute one touch passing sideways and backwards. He creates little, can't carry the ball forward, is missing a very high amount of passes recently and doesn't score or assist either as some DMs do occasionally.

And on defense it is like playing with 10 men, if he doesn't manage to win the ball back high up the pitch it almost certainly leads to a big chance/goal for the opposition as he doesn't have the legs to get back.

The cherry on top is he doesn't even care that much about playing here and would rather be in MLS, but Xavi's unconditional trust and 90 every single game for him has kept him here when probably would easily have gotten rid of him had he been benched.

This is not true. Any team looking to dominate games need midfielders of very high class. Bayern, City, Madrid (who are not even a possession team per se usually) all have them.

Bayern had both Kimich and Thiago when they won last CL. City are stacked in creating midfielders department, with De Bruyne, Bernardo, Gundogan, even Rodri. Madrid have Modric and Kroos who are still going strong. Even United have a much better passer than us in Bruno Fernandes.

I think 2 goals were conceded after Busi was out already... so, no, replacing Busi doesn't make Pique play decent. If anything, De Jong should have been used in defense as a CB.

He is caught in possession, and he is slow and phisically bad. The tragic part is that he is still our best passer in midfield by a distance. That being said, we should still drop him because his off the ball game is simply too much of a weakness to cover, especially without Kounde and Araujo behind him.

He was caught in possession ONCE .. considering he prob has more touches than anyone else that is entirely understandable .,

Yes that goal was mainly down to his losing the ball and he was replaced .. maybe to make a point maybe because Xavi thought he was either tired or struggling - he is rarely to blame for goals though

He actually got caught on possession several times in that one sequence of play. The last one was just fatal.

He will occasionally get caught in possession.. their is not a player in history who did not .. he is simply mote likely as everything meaningful goes through him

Yes, he will, and that would be for 12 years running in cl games, starting from that arsenal game at nou camp where arsenal scored from his fuckup, but we had prime messi who went goat mode and scored four goals. Busquets is from xavi, iniesta, messi era and he was great if not the greatest water carrier for their abilities. But there is none of them anymore, his strength vanished and he got exposed heavily. Pedri, fdj, kessie and gavi, in that order should be our starting middlefielders. You can bring ancient one when the game is dusted, but that aint happening soon. So, he needs to fucking go.

I don't have to 'believe' it, it was actually confirmed by De Jong himself that he already decided back in May that he'd be staying and not negotiate with any club over the summer, especially not with fucking ManU(rinated).
