OK, here is what I think I know:

- We did break some rules governing youth players, even though we did propose to revise them.
- We complied with all FIFA inquiries on a total of 37 youth players and sent them the requested info before deadlines set by FIFA.
- FIFA made the decision to impose the ban on us in November 28th 2013, even before one of the deadlines they set for us to provide information on the youth players being investigated, December 3rd, 2013. After which they contiued to ask for information from us.
- They chose not to go public with their decision to sanction us (decision made on November 28th, 2013) until yesterday, April 2nd, 2014.

OK, I know our board has a bunch of incompetent morons. But seriously, fuck you FIFA.

The board knew from the start the ban was one of the possible outcomes of that, still did nothing. So it's actually F you rosell, bartomeu and all the rest.

Instinct, it's in the socios hands now. The referendum for the new stadium is a great opportunity. If they reject it, they'll be showing to not be backing them. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't know Flavia, to me them duly and diligently providing the requested info on the players being investigated and proposing to changes the current rules indicated they did do something in response to the potential ban. What else could they have done? Sending all those 37 youth players back home?

Sure, one could argue that we shouldn't have breached the rules in the first place. Yes, they didn't know what they were doing and for that, yes, very inept and incompetent on the part of the management.

The clueless and inconsistent FIFA is equally to blame, if not more.

You're not following, I guess. They were breaking a law, and knowing that very well. Still did it, thinking they'd be "excused". And of course they knew the ban was possible, but chose to ignored it. '13 summer was the time to sign at least a cb and ter Stegen. Fifa is not clueless... they just chose Barça to make an example of it. Which better club, than the one who relies so much in their cantera, and have a top one? There's nothing to blame Fifa for here. If you break a law, you're the one responsible. It doesn't matter if you think the law and the ones who made it are stupid.

Poor analogy coming up.

1) You go to a bank and steal money from their vaults.
2) You get caught by the police.
3) You co-operate fully and give them video evidence that shows your theft. Then you propose to the police to change the rules regarding theft, because you are special and are stealing the money for a good cause.
4) The police arrest you.
5) You complain that lots of others are also stealing.

The police are equally to blame, if not more ??????????

Also, do people actually believe Barca will sign a lot of players if they have a small window of opportunity due to the appeal? Dreams of 1 GK, 2 CB, 1 CM and 1 ST seem a little far-fetched to me:

- Ter-Stegen transfer might, probably will, go through - that's goalie done.
- Halilovic transfer might, probably will, go through - irrelevant for first team.
- 2 CB, 1 CM and 1 ST - Who exactly are they gonna sign? They don't have enough money and they've already put themselves at a disadvantage at the negotiations table, not to mention they don't even have a proper list of targets. I would be chuffed if they even signed 1 decent CB.

Tough year ahead for Barca. At this point, the best possible transfer would be to the Atletico bandwagon :pep: It's absolutely free, and all it takes is 180 minutes (to watch their two La Liga clashes with Madrid)

Honestly, I just hope ter Stegen and a top cb get signed. Rafinha comes back for CM and that's it.

Let's be honest, signing a midfielder was never realistic and I don't see Tata signing a striker to play in front of Messi. What was certain was a GK and a CB which will hopefully still be possible.

Whether Barca did break a law or not, the fact that they are the only club being singled out is shady at best by fifa. Doesn't fifa govern all clubs? There is no way Barca's is the only club that has broken this so called law. Singling out Barca is idiotic and smells of some kind of witch hunt or influence somewhere else. If fifa really cared about implementing this rule then they would have banned other clubs.

Is there any evidence to suggest that other clubs have been breaking this rule too? It makes no sense to just assume they're out there.

I agree I am assuming but that is what has been reported and I'm sure more information will come out in the next few weeks. It is however highly unlikely that Barca is the only club breaking whatever rule they are said to be breaking. Frankly, I'm sure there are clubs out there doing worse things.

That's a different matter. Fifa should be punishing all clubs that broke the rules, but this still makes no difference for Barça. The board broke the rules. Rosell asked to change the law or be excused, and this was stupid from him. Too much confidence on something that was not going to be decided by him. He should had just followed the rules.

Can Barcelona B still make transfers while Barcelona are banned?

Anyone know this? I'm really curious. If this were possible, Barca B could sign Luiz, Benatia, Hummels, Gundogan whoever and they could just get promoted to the first team.
