Not everything is about speed, he has 360 awareness, can play quick one-two passes with his team-mates that recycles possessions and is excellent at manipulating the rhythm of the game. He plays passes between lines that our midfielders won't even bother attempting and despite not having that much pace and never has, gets himself around the park, presses and harasses and gets on the ball much more than any Barca midfielder.

Barca fans have become so used to seeing slow-sterile uninspiring midfielders, that they assume anyone with one similar attribute must be identical across the whole board.

I am just afraid he will turn into another Rakitic or Busi. Waste of a midfielder. He has had his injury issues too and the movement is slow already.

Why are people so convinced we'll play a double pivot with Koeman?

He played a 4-2-3-1 at Southampton, Everton and Netherlands and said stuff like Griezmann won't play as a winger, Frenkie will play in his natural position, etc.

As I’ve been saying for quite some time we need workhorses. People laughed at this concept but seem to agree it is the way forward in today’s football

True especially if you have Messi and Suarez as your forwards. Rest of the team needs to be like Bayerns running machines.

Let's be honest.

One month here and he would turn into another lazy, walking, out of shape amigo spraying side passes to stationary players.

Club culture is real and rubs off on to everybody. Bayern is a good fit for him. Top work ethic, intensity and quick, mobile players all over the park.

Our culture will change back to how top clubs operate once amigos are gone. They're the problem.

Reckon that will take 2-3 years to fully happen. By that time Thiago will be past it.

2-3 years before Amigos are done? I expect next season to not see most of them except as rotation players. 2-3 seasons is how much it would take to come up with a new team, after the amigos are done and dusted.

Quite the optimist you are. These things always take longer than fans envision. Some of these players won't leave without putting up a fight and have contracts into 2023/2024. Building a European contender again is 5+ years away.

If a new board comes in and does everything right then you may be correct though.

Leaving is one thing. Being benched can happen immediately. Nobody is stopping Koeman form dropping a good chunk of the amigos clan. The credit of the amigos now is super thin. They have no leverage of any kind.
