Just for interest sake , do la masia guys finish high school? And do you guys think its important for these guys to learn english? I mean ive wanted messi to learn english but realised he wount really need it ?

As far as i know, they put quite a lot of emphasis on the education part, because a big chunk of the kids never make it into professional football for various reasons, and out of those who make it, the majority ends up having a career that won't leave them millionairs once they retire. It's really responsible of them, and very much in the club spirit, even though i'm sure that other big academies like real or ajax do the same.

Man United have made contact with the entourage of Thiago. Player is open to a transfer. Offer to club and player expected shortly. [mirror]

Cant blame him to be honest.

Annoys me more that another club will get him for around £16m more than anything and the fact he will improve anyone he goes to.

Just an hour ago barcastuff tweeted no club as made any offers for Thiago. It's all garbage from English rags.

That exactly link may be garbage but it seems clear he is weighing up his options and I can only see him leaving.

He will have a massive ambition to play in the WC in Brazil and can he trust Tito to give him the playing time to earn that? I doubt it.

Added to that is Xavi telling everyone he intends to go on for years yet. Do we need to hear that when Thiago is thinking of leaving.

Hope Xavi's ego is not starting to get in way of Thiago staying.

Xavi needs to play less minutes to be honest. Losing Thiago is a no no, losing Thiago will be the biggest blow to the club. Rosell and Tito I could not forgive for that.

How is it Xavi's responsibility? As if he's the one making the decisions. When Tito decides to play Xavi, what's he supposed to do? Say "Oh no, you should let Thiago play this one!"? It's his job to play and to do what he's told. Stop making him look like the one who's "at fault" for Thiago's lack of minutes. Or Fabregas. One person and one person only is responsible for that.

Its not Xavi's responsibility but I just hope he does not put the pressure on for him to continue to always be the main man. Of course it is down to Tito to make the decisions but Thiago has to believe he has the chance to get into the team.

Xavi has been quite vocal this week claiming Barca controlled the game against Bayern with possesio and then stating he will be playing for a few years yet. It sounds to me like he may be on the defensive a bit as he knows there has been criticism. Much of it justified.

Not saying I am 100% correct, just an opinion that Xavis ego has been on show more lately and it may be down to feeling the heat of Thiago being there to replace him.

Hi, its me..
i think its almost a guarantee teams will make offers if hes available for as little as 18m, United have needed a CM for ages and although Fergie has gone, playing week in week out would certainly interest thiago with a WC coming next year. (and he seems good friends with de Gea)

Really hope he stays, but id be very surprised if he had no offers :nervous2:

I feel like Xavi's obsession with playing as much as he used to + the purchase of Fabregas could be what forces out Thiago.

My ideal scenario would be:

1. Reduce Xavi's minutes by a good amount and give them to Thiago. By this I mean all copa matches, 40 to 50% of La Liga matches, and any Champions League group stage matches where the group is already won should be started by Thiago. He should also be used as a sub a bit more often.

2. Alternate Cesc with Iniesta to keep them both fresh.

3. Give Cesc starts at False 9 in copa matches(except the last few rounds if we face tough opponents) and sub him on for Messi to rest Messi in matches that are already won. By this I mean at like the 65th or 70th minute. Not like Tito's 87th minute subs. :tito:

With all these adjustments, everyone is rested and gets a good amount of minutes. Xavi is fresh, Thiago develops, Cesc gets minutes, Iniesta and Messi are fresh.

+1.

Furthermore, Xavi honestly has everything needed to be a great player who can come off the bench and change a game. Particularly if we need to hold a lead, put Xavi in for 20 mins or so and just play keep ball for the 2nd half. Plus if he's more rested, he can run more and be more mobile. His movement was why he was such a boss during the Pep years, something that he has been lacking a bit as of late. More rest should = faster, sharper Xavi.

As with Thiago, the only thing missing from his game is consistency. If he can start bossing games on his own consistently with either Iniesta or Cesc as his supporting attacking midfielder, I could see Xavi possibly losing his spot in the 2nd half of the season.

I think Thiago will be our next Deco, except Thiago is even more talented than he was. Him and Iniesta firing on all cylinders could be fun to watch.

Plus :thiago: + :neymar: + :alveshat:= so much swagg

Considering I just bought an expensive Thiago kit for this season, it'd be an epic fail if he were to move now

Hope his father doesn't influence a hasty move though, that'd be reckless for his career path
