Depor game meant nothing, though. His mistakes in the Villarreal match were worse.

The reason why Mathieu was subbed on in the Villarreal match was because Lucho didn't want Pique to get a second yellow and miss the Classico. Mathieu just isn't really comfortable being subbed on mid game and especially if the game is still in reach for the other team.

Extremely easy points were dropped though, the kind you need to secure so you can allow yourself to drop points against stronger ones, like Villareal away. Deportivo. At home. 2-0 lead. Until the 77th minute! We beat them 8-0 away same season.

Barca are closely monitoring Thiago Alcantara's (25) situation, who's interested in coming back. He was also scouted by R. Fernandez. [ser]

ser is reliable, right?

Watch Bayern turn down a 60m offer. After we let him go for 25

We didn't need a midfielder when we bought Cesc. We had Xavi and Iniesta in their prime as well as Thiago. We do need one now. Plus we don't have another Thiago for this Thiago to push out like Cesc did.

Pep wanted Cesc as he was switching to a 3-4-3. Once he abandoned it there was no need for four top centre mids and even keeping three happy was difficult.

He's been absolutely dominant and seem to be leaving his fitness issues behind him too.

But I don't think he'll want to come back. He seem very happy in Munich.

The guy is just going to turn 26 too. Just a year older than Verratti. Forget Cesc or Bellerin or Icardi recently leaving, this is the one coming back to bite us as we'll be on the look for a CM this summer with no established very good or World Class CM available

I know hindsight is 20/20, but it was a huge mistake to let him go. That stupid clause. Should had played him so his fee wouldn't be low, and kept him against his will. Damn.

He's got a history of bad injuries, much like Gundogan. So if we were to somehow manage to get him back here then we would be taking a risk with a player who has a history of long-term injuries.
