Toni Kroos

Not gloating at all (I'm pretty bummed that RM got a class act like Kroos so relatively cheap), but how much of a loss is it to you guys, to lose him? Will you look for a direct replacement (who?), or do you bet on Thiago and Schweini not breaking down again and perhaps for Højbjerg to be ready for more minutes?

I'm sure Bayern will reinvest the money wisely, not exactly a shortage of young central attacking midfielders to choose from. I'll be honest though I don't particularly see him excelling at Madrid (famous last words).

ffs... What's the logic behind selling one of your brightest talents..

IIRC, it was his last year of contract.

Bayern didn't have the choice since he refused to renew it. They tried, he refused because of a lower salary than what was offered to him elsewhere.

So instead of pulling a Klopp and letting him go for free next year, they preferred to sell him. Understandable.

edit:

AS confirms it:

- 30M euros fee (not 25M like previously believed)
- 6M net per year.
