That'd be gross salary. Kroos's wages are close to being on level with Iniesta after taxes.

According to Bild it is a done deal now. Kroos to Real for 30 mio., 6 mio. a year after taxes.

I'm quite happy with that. 30m for a player with 1 year left on his contract is not a bad deal. Better than losing him on a free.

Will you look for a direct replacement (who?), or do you bet on Thiago and Schweini not breaking down again and perhaps for Højbjerg to be ready for more minutes?

I'm sure Bayern will reinvest the money wisely, not exactly a shortage of young central attacking midfielders to choose from. I'll be honest though I don't particularly see him excelling at Madrid (famous last words).

IIRC, it was his last year of contract.

Bayern didn't have the choice since he refused to renew it. They tried, he refused because of a lower salary than what was offered to him elsewhere.

So instead of pulling a Klopp and letting him go for free next year, they preferred to sell him. Understandable.
