That doesn't mean anything at all.

TS, just like Luiz, was asked to force the transfer.

It's reported that Barcelona asked to force it, it's not reported either Luiz said he will or not.

And yeah, there's that MD news that says that "luiz is determined to join Barca", but since what happened with TS and since Luiz is more like TS than Bale, Rosell might wait a long time before seeing Luiz forcing anything.

we could of used abidal at the CB position too. i just feel that we shouldn't overpay for a player right now. with the leagues about to start, i doubt a team wants to sell and if they do, they want to get an offer they can't refuse

Thing is Jose doesn't rate Luiz apparently PLUS they want Mangala and already have Cahill and Terry as well as Luiz .

That's just our low-ball offer to get negotiations started. Sanllehí must have came to personal terms with Luiz's agent yesterday.

I personally hope we get Luiz or Mangala.

Mangala has a buyout of €52 million or something and he looked very , very poor the other day .

i agree with you. spending over 25 million for luiz is a gamble defensively. he might fit barcelona style, but we are going to get killed int he counterattacks. I'll rather go after that kid Doria. He is raw but his ceiling is high. we could of bought marquihnos for 8 million euros but thought that was too high and vertoghen. zubi and rosell just want to keep buying high profile guys and that's not what we need to do.

Playing Bartra is a gamble IMHO .

Mangala would be my first choice and has what we need for our defence right now.But Porto will ask for too many apparently..

If we make a really high bid first, Chelsea could always ask for more. And in the the long run we'd be more likely to pay more than we would have if our first bid is low.

I say FUCK IT!! Play Batra or the B side CBs and see how we go. There's no doubt it is the fault of the board for not getting someone like Silva when he was available for 35-40 million. However why should we be held to ransom and made to pay extortionate prices?? 35-40 million MAX for Luiz. I think the club will get a CB-not sure if it will be Luiz though. Probably be some unknown or veteran who we pick up on the cheap.

We played Bartra against Bayern ....

It's his M.O. Not sure if it'll work with chelsea. But there's rumors they want Luiz sold to get Mangala.

It just seems to be something that is repeated on here and Mourinho has said the exact opposite.

Marquinhos was too expensive and they never would have won a bidding war against PSG. The only hope was that he was determined to sign for Barcelona and refused PSG, which obviously did not happen.
If they had bidded for him it might have happened but how would he have joined us if we didn't even bid for him,he hesistated for some weeks waiting for our bid but then zubi came out and said we did not bid for him and he joined psg. Buying a young cb or two is the best thing we can do if we don't sing any experienced one this season because the transfer market would have been become more inflated next summer.we should just sell song to create space in the squad for the signing of two young versatile cb,two of zouma,tiago cassasola,doria;together with bagnack this way we wouldn't have to look for a cb next summer because next summer we have to get 2gk and xavi replacement if it is not sorted out this season.

I think it was clear they were interested and did not bother bidding once it was clear that he was open to a move to PSG and the money.

Clubs these days seem to contact the player long before making a bid to the club.

He would have known that Barcelona were interested.

Signing any of those young defenders you named is a gamble and the team need more than an unproven youngster with potential just now.

Koscielny > Agger > Luiz....I rather not get a CB than pay 45mil for Luiz. Like I said before, I don't hate him, but 45mil is laughable.

THIS ... Koscielny is simple one of the best CB in the world and he's soooooooooooooooo under-rated.
If our staff was smart, we'd have sign this man weeks ago knowing our past and relationship with Arsenal -> with 35m I'm sure that he'll be our player very easily.

paying exhorbitant prices like 45million for luiz or any other cb is not good for the future of this,if we do this team will continue to ask higher price for their players from us than any other club(it will put us in the same bracket as psg,chelsea,mancity,monaco,real madrid)and considering we need 2gk we will spend 45million on the two because then the selling club will see us as big spender.it the big transfers that we have made that is making the club that want to sell inflate the price of the players.it like realmadrid with bale if it was a club llike arsenal or dortmund that was interested in him his price will not be more than 60m max but since it is madrid they have to pay double that value.

The song transfer was a great failure if we had signed verthogen or a young cb with potential last year we wouldn't be in this hot mess even though verthogen is similar to pique he is still an upgrade on mascherano,bartra and adriano even though signing a young cb with potential is a gamble it is better we had taken that gamble than gambling on song becoming a world class cb all of a sudden.

Other sources, icluding dudes at Roma said Barcelona, PSG and one other club did bid on marquinhos.

Marquinhos said he was convinced afterwards to join PSG. Leo did half of the job, the money finished to convince him.

IMO zubi lied. They did bid, but PSG did bid higher and AS Roma asked marquinhos to talk with Leo, end of story.

First of all, I was trying to agree with your post about avoiding overpaying for David Luiz, but the other post appeared before mine. I was saying that we should look at other centerbacks before the transfer window closes.

And seriously, what does this rant of yours have anything to do with what I said?
