Trent Alexander-Arnold

One thing is certain - he is likely now the most hated man in Anfield. Knowing what their fans are like.

I wouldn't be surprised if they boo him next time he plays.

To sign one of the best RBs on the planet is no-brainer.

Ancelotti wouldn't mind that.

We already discussed that - Real Madrid maximize profit from another free agent another summer.

They are doing the same mistakes done with the first Galacticos

Perez never change strategy, never changed mind even after his 2nd stint at Madrid
Bellingham
Mbape
Trent
even Hazard before,
all these are Galactico signings
And old dog cannot learn new tricks...

What changed is that there is someone else in there (don't know who) who has a football brain, and realized that
Tchouameni, Camavinga for instance, should be bought
Or that they should hit the Brazilian market preemptively, like with Rodrygo and Vinicious

That made their squad much more balanced now compared to Galacticos vol.1

Hazard is amongst my favourite players of the last 15 years. However, what a disaster he turned out to be there. Shame for him that he lacked discipline. So much ability.

Trent can be said to be one of the best RB only offensively. Defensively, he's a disaster. Does Madrid need more elite offensive talent or they need proper warriors to improve their defense? Do they need more moments players, who will pull something out of their ass in the big games, or they need a solid core to fight for the front 4 and feed their potential? Look at how Carvajal was important last season, his immense effort, tireless running and dedication. Trent won't give any of that.

I just think that if Carlo were actually the one making the choice here no way he'd pick Trent as his first option.

Same man, same strategy all along:
Perez Galacticos Vol.1: Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Beckham, Owen

Perez Galacticos Vol.2: CR, Kaka, Benzema, Bale, James

Perez Galacticos Vol.3: Hazard, Bellingham, Mpabe, Trent, (to be continued)...

Some of them failed, some succeeded. But apart from Zidane and CR7 (so far), the signings that made the difference were not the Galactico signings, but the 'clever' ones:
Makelele the 1st period, Xabi, Modric and Kroos the 2nd, Vinicious Courtois (and we see who else) now in the 3rd

True. Signing less heralded players (Casemiro, Modric, Makelele etc) and young playerswho turn out to be superstars (Vinicius)works better for them.

Fun fact - when Real Madrid provisionally signed a 16 year old Vini (as he wasn't officially joining until 18) and made him the most expensive teenager at that time, I posted about it on Yahoo Answers. So I was probably the first introduction to Vini for several people on that now defunct site. That's pretty cool. I knew a lot of the people there like I know the people here.

That was a bit off topic. The overall point is of course you're right. It makes sense though, because when you buy a superstar, they work less for the team and often behave like a prima donna. The brilliant but less hyped players tend to be the players you and I have referenced who play in the engine room and really run the game, and provide balance. Or they are statistical difference makers, but the distinction is that it is the young players signed who develop into difference makers rather than ready-made players who already have ego.

Birdy spot on

I want Madrid to sign all those galacticos they are linked to. To push fighters who love the club like Asencio out of the club (not him in particural, but even he almost got shipped because they preferred the big names over their own kids) and play a lineup entirely composed of individual quality and players not ready to provide much effort.

This is why I'm not worried about Trent in the slightest. We have our own young core. Is the quality better? Don't know, maybe not. But our academy products are ready to sacrifice themselves for the badge and that's why they will be able to counter the galacticos, as it always was.

Real Madrid sign galacticos; Barca create them.

It's all speculation and assumption that Carlo is the mute manager. Arda Guler skipped 3-4 levels of development by signing with Real Madrid and now gets seconds per game in average. Carlo is real.
