I really want Klopp vs Diego Simeone. I've been wanting to see Atletico vs Dortmund before since both were counter-attacking team. It would be interesting to see them shouting at each other with angry faces on the touchline.

6 Ballons for Messi

but what if he wins 7??
Van Gaal and Guardiola are both massive coaches with great and bad periods,

There's no comparison at all between them, lvg is an average coach, he has left his teams struggling at least 3-4 times in his career, barca was close to relegation under lvg, then he struggled to finish 2nd in bundesliga with bayern, now he has spent 250m on signings in man.u and he will only get a europa league position.
Pep's worse seasons he dominated the league and lost in the cl semis to the eventual winner.

Pep is what lvg wished he could be.

Both Pep and Heynckes thrived on the groundwork he provided at Bayern. And Löw as well, although he'd never admit it. Before him, posession based football was almost unheard of in Germany.

I think partially it was the Bayern management's fault. They brought Guardiola to transform Bayern into a team that plays more like us, regardless of their characteristics and strengths. I think one should play to the strengths of the player portfolio instead of trying to impose a style on existing players.

Ancelotti will look at a squad with good depth, but unless injuries force him (I keep my fingers crossed) he isn't as rotational as Guardiola, so I expcet him to thin the squad a bit out, sell a couple of players like Götze and Benatia, maybe also some others in the following season, He will look to get 1-2 worldly players for big fees. I expect his reign to be not so different from the one he had at Madrid. Some plaers will fall and some will rise in his favour, someone who's now considered good at Bayern might get sold by him in near future, possibly one of those that Pep brought in, Costa? Thiago? Someone else? At least 1 shock sell will be included, I'd take a wild guess and say Javi Martinez.

But other than that, Guardiola leaves an intact squad behind that doesn't need too much change, so Ancelotti will go for a much more tactical approach than Guardiola, no idea how that will work out, maybe step back a bit from possession which I wouldn't mind. He will focus on eradicating the current errors. Also there will be a Madrid player moving for a huge fee to Bayern.

Quite happy Atleti made the final, hope City can upset the odds and get there too.

I'd fucking hate it if RM spoilt the party again.

Although it would be something if both CL and EL finals involved 4 Spanish teams, not sure how many CL places Spain would actually get then, assuming it happened and we win La Liga ?

This. Regardless of Van Gaal's results and how unappealing teams play under his command, he creates teams with longetivity that other coaches can easily inherit with just a bit of crucial finetuning. Also his reign at Ajax in the 90s was the best that I perosnally believe any coach ever had with a team in a 5 year span. Not just in terms of success but look at all the players he made there. Patrick Kluivert, Clarence Seedorf, Marc Overmars, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Edgar Davids, Winston Bogarde, Michael Reiziger, Edwin van der Sar I can do that for hours, he should have a statue in the netherlands. Guardiola is similar minded, but he didn't need to promote that many players, because Barca was financially competetive.

On the evidence of their current form, I'd say Athleti are favorites whoever makes the final between City and Real. Having said that, I'd love to see a City v Athleti final, although City have been an absolute shambles recently.

Carvajal? Varane? I don't see why Real Madrid would sell them though.

It will be funny when by the end of next season half their "amazing squad" and "2 world class players for every position" wants to leave because Ancelotti only plays 13 players all season
