Think they would anyway tbh.

Last season people argued Barcelona/Madrid was the best 2 sides in the world, not so sure anymore, think United have closed the gap again and possibly overtaken Madrid.

Thought City (who are shite in Europe) was very unlucky against Madrid, 2-1 up 5mins to go at the Bernabeu and at the Etihad drew and apart from the first 30 mins City just dictated the whole game, think the game ended something like 70-30% possession City, but yeah United have European experience and I can see them just killing them tbh, can't even see it being much of a contest, can't see Madrid dealing with RVP what so ever, whereas i can see United dealing with Ronaldo better and I think their attacks in general will be just too much.

How has United's defense and midfield improved over last season's? The attack, sure, but defense and midfield...not seeing any improvement.

Man Utd could barely contain A.Lennon and you think they can contain CR7?

Ps:- Taking note of all these 'Hilarious' comments and we'll see who will be laughing when it's over with, I'm going for 5-2 maybe 5-3 agg scoreline for United, 'comfortable' is what i say it's going to be.

Score draw at the Bernabeu maybe 2-2 and a 2-1 or 3-1 win for United at OT.

 I could turn around and say Madrid could barely contain James Milner when he came on, think they could handle Rooney?

We'll see won't we.

He came on against a ten man team in a dead rubber game, you say that you think madrid will have a harder time keeping RVP at bay, but what are you basing it on? Real Madrid played against Falcoa the best CF in the world and handeld him well, Man Utd faced A.Lennon and struggled.

United's midfield and defense has been woeful this season. In last match match they actually showed defensive discipline for the first time(except Evra). If they go back to their old form they will get annhilated by CR7. Madrid's defense has also been bad but nowhere near as bad as ManU. They have conceded more goals in 20 matches than they did whole of the last season while Madrid's defense had been bad only in some matches. Many matches they lost (Betis, Getafe, Sevilla were 1-0) were not down to defense

Stuggled with A.Lennon, when? Even if so that's 1 bleeding game, couple seasons ago Barcelona struggled to contain Walcott yet handled him rather well 2nd leg.

Can't believe the stupidity on here sometimes, 'United can barely handle Grant Holt or a Delap throw in what makes you think they can handle Benzema' funny stuff

Also it's good to see some of you showing you're true colours, ie:- Team who Barcelona detest (Madrid) and 'some' of you lot aligning yourselves Madrid on this game and hoping Madrid beat United, why? Because United are an English team and this is the reason why you align yourselves with Barcelona and the Spanish league, Barcelona fans my arse  anything but England or PL more like.

Please stop these immature EPL vs La liga arguments. If you want these you are in the wrong forum. We are trying to analyze the games according to our perception and i dont think its a crime to have different opinions. Heck you and i could both be wrong and something else may happen entirely. Vidic may score a hat trick or it may finish 0-0 and go to penalties. Its an unpredictable game.

That match is about unpredictable as it gets, been waiting for it for a long time, should be great.

One thing is for sure is that United will score.

Yes we detest Madrid heck if Man Utd beat Madrid they eliminate arguably our main threat to CL glory and I would be jumping for joy if we were to face Man Utd in the 1/4 (basing it on assumption that we beat AC MILAN of course) but we are realistic, I want Man Utd to win, but I have seen very little based on their performance from Man Utd to convince me that they can handle Madrids team, regardless of how much you and media try and hype Man Utds current team

I make no secret of the fact that I think English football is dull - at the same time I am not a particular fan of Madrid or really of Barcelona. While I like Athletic (when they're not abusing their players like they are now), I am an Italian fish and will always favor calcio. I still make an effort to analyze teams in terms of form and potential and while I agree that United's attack is better this year, I also think that the midfield and defense have NOT improved (and may actually have gotten worse). And if a midfield/defense can be beaten soundly twice by Athletic Club (as United were last year), then I don't think it is unreasonable to think they may find it a challenge to go against Madrid.
