Please stop these immature EPL vs La liga arguments. If you want these you are in the wrong forum. We are trying to analyze the games according to our perception and i dont think its a crime to have different opinions. Heck you and i could both be wrong and something else may happen entirely. Vidic may score a hat trick or it may finish 0-0 and go to penalties. Its an unpredictable game.

Well that's it, we'll see won't we.

If you want to talk perceptions though and reality, reality is Manchester United are top of the Premier League, probably the most competitive league and toughest league to win (we'll leave all the best out) and scoring goals left right and centre, whereas Madrid are 3rd in Spain and 18 points adrift from Barcelona, as said imo struggled against City and at civil war with each other, Mourihno dropping Casillas, Madrid fans wanting him hanged, Madrid are just a complete farce right now whereas United look like a machine, how do you think it's going to go down, really? I'm just saying it how i see it.

People talk about United's dodgy defense this season, Madrid leak goals themselves with Casillas on the pitch, now it looks like he's out RVP, Rooney & Chicharito must be drooling, even if Casillas plays or doesn't though and won't have much say on the outcome of the game, goalkeepers don't dictate how a football match is played, that's down to the 10 outfield players.

I watch la liga, Because the club i cheer for plays in it, I couldn't care less if there was 100 'better' leagues out there, It's not in the area of my concern

My pet peeve with this forum is people commenting on things they clearly don't have a clue about. I've lost count of how many people still claim United's midfield is 'terrible' despite the fact its been really strong this season. Carrick has been a revelation and has had an exceptional season. Cleverly is now really stepping up, and Anderson and Kagawa look promising when they play.

Our weakness this season has clearly been in defense (which is looking much better now Vidic is back btw), and even our wingers haven't been at their usual high standard. To say anything other than that clearly shows you don't watch Man United, and instead just spout the same recycled nonsense you hear other ill informed people here saying.

United's midfield might not be at a world class level like Barcelona's, but its still been a good, strong midfield this season. This is coming from a fan who watches almost every game, and isn't afraid to criticise the team when need be.

Back on topic, I don't watch enough of Falcao to be arrogant enough to claim RVP is definitely better. But for me RVP is the complete striker, and for the last two seasons it seems like there is nothing he can't do. He can hurt Madrid for sure and they'll be nervous about the damage he can do unquestionably, however the same can be said for the Madrid players hurting us.... and I'm nervous about that too!

You can't seriously claim that midfield is United-worthy. Imagine Unitedmidfield have to face the likes of Barca, Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munchen or even City (you were completely overrun that game), those teams would run rings around your midfield. Carrick is a good footballer, but no world class which can also be said about Cleverley. Anderson is for me still a prospect that never stepped up to his potential and I would really want to see Kagawa playing against a topside in Europe.

But however, I admire Sir Alex for the simple football you are able to put in practice which such a shoddy (my opinion) midfield and be able to be successful with it. And except for Vidic, the defence isn't world class either. Rafael (or the other one, don't know which one is a QPR right now), Evra, Smalling, possibly even Jones aren't that great footballers, even for being defenders. You're attack is world class, one of the best in the world but I think that lack of balance is going to pay out eventually.

I'm not a particular United fan and lost a lot of respect for Sir Alex since he decided to bitch about everything but I do admire you're playing style. Simple, yet elegant.

And IMO, Falcao is definitely better.

People have underestimated United's midfield since Keane retired. Yet it is still a midfield decorated with silverware and reached 3 of the last 5 Champions League finals, so underestimate United at your peril!

Trouble is we football fans think we know it all, we don't. United go out and buy a player like Carrick and people go  what are they buying Carrick for why not sign Snejder (a name)? What are they signing Zaha for? Why not sign Isco?

Sir Alex is smart, it's why he's so sucessful. Look what RVP said in the interview recently that was posted here, each player is a cog, all have there own roles and each cog makes a machine which is what they've got back to for the first time since 09 and it's great to watch how this works.

Would you each Madrid player is a cog that make a machine? I wouldn't, each player is a massive cog that don't quite fit together right, same with City (in Europe anyway) and I just feel Man United are by far a better football team than Madrid, the main and only danger i feel is Ronaldo, keep him quiet and you're 50% there to beating Madrid whereas keep RVP quiet there's still Rooney or Chic, maybe even a winger/Kagawa, United don't rely on 1 player.

United's weakness is defense, well namely De Gea's inability to catch and how he gets exposed on corners, but this shouldn't be an issue against Madrid, Madrid are a Spanish team and De Gea is a Spanish keeper, they won't play like a English team and target De Gea unless that's what Mourinho trys, he will also be up for it more than anyone being a former Atletico player.

Of course I can.

Carrick has arguably been our best player this season, and it says a lot about Cleverly that I'd rather see him start than Scholes. Like I say our defense and wingers have been our weakness this season, which is almost a complete reverse from seasons gone by recently.

I can only assume you don't watch much of United either. Rafael is a superb footballer, especially for his age. Excellent in attack, quick, good on the ball and has largely been very good in defense this season too. Speak to any United fan and they will tell you they are thrilled with the level he is at right now. Same thing with Evra, he is a very skilled player, very, very good offensively and keeps scoring for us. Unfortunately his defensive play has been suspect this season and that is definitely his weakness these days, but he is technically very good still. Granted the jury is still out on Jones and Smalling, but its worth remembering they are still very young.

The only midfield I'd be scared of playing is Barcelona's. Other than that I'm confident we will hold our own. Not long left though until the Madrid game, when a lot of questions will be answered. I just hope if United do win (and win well) people here don't just claim its because Madrid are poor, rather than because United deserved it, because if its the other way around, I'll happily admit I was wrong.

I'm hoping Man U win... but being infinitely superior to Madrid? I'm not so sure about that...

Madrid has better players, and if they get their shit together they'll be favourites. No telling if they'll do that, however.

Also, doesn't 'most difficult league to win' only matter on who the leading team/s in that league is?

I usually think your post's are a bit 'hardcore' for my liking, but this is a great post. Well said.

So you would rather see Cleverley play ahead of a 38-year-old Scholes... So what does that really say!? I really am not able to deduce much about Cleverley from that actually!!

It says a lot actually. Scholes wasn't much younger last season when he dictated play in almost every game he played. Cleverly is finally fulfilling the promise he's shown. Not the finished article yet, but not far off now.
