Your reasons are so far fetched. . . It would be safe to say you don't own a TV set and didn't see the game last night, neither have you seen any of the games he has played. There is no error-free defender but Kompany is pretty prone to errors, especially positioning errors, and more so than people think. I'm not even saying he isn't a great defender but the problem is that people make it look like he's Maldini reincarnated.

Kompany puts in amazing challenges and tackles that few can parallel but he also often stabs and is prone to positioning errors. He's on both ends of the scale as opposed to middle of the road, but for some reason people remember him for his good plays as opposed to his bad ones.
