Vitor Roque (loaned to Real Betis)

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
So we have the money and room of "financial play" to extend Busquets and bring Messi back but not signing this guy?

Just look at Madrid and look at us. They spend money and take gambles on young players and prospects (don't always work out, just one would be nice already), they look forward, we look backward.

Extending Busquets on a lower salary probably helps with financial fair play rules and if Messi is going to join on free transfer on a 10m per year gross wage then that probably doesn't put a huge dent either.

On the other hand a 40-50m transfer fee for Vitor Roque might be a legitimate issue here. Hoped a loan + obligation to buy a year later would solve that problem but who knows at this point.

Maybe shedding some salary, selling some players will allow a couple of decent amount signings.

I wouldn't worry too much until it's confirmed he's joining some other club. Still think we'll sign him.

40m for Roque over 5 years and say a 5m salary is about 1 million more a season than the rumoured 12m a season for Gundogan.

Never mind the 30m+ a season on books paying for a 35 yr old Lewa who was shite in Europe and has less goals per min than Auba last season in league.

Even better on Lewa... nuggets like Jamrock claim he is signed for four years but Barca can break after three for a huge costs on the books for him at most declined stage after 3 years.

Roque is still a gamble of course but it is these decisions club makes then plead poverty while claiming player wanted to come.

They did same last season but on bigger scale with Haaland... then spend more or less the same on books for Lewa.

They use media to manipulate fans and use the 'finances' argument when suits.

Roque seems big gamble now, 40mil for him is not small amount, I would rather get Auba on loan then risk with 40mil for kid who didn't play single good game in carrier.

Messi, Gundogan, Auba (loan), Abde and out attack is much better, also maybe Carrassco.

I am more worried about our right back and CDM.

Lovely strike. Gonna search for the full game HL of him now.

Chelsea are reportedly going to go in big for him. They need a striker so weight end up losing that one.

Sport have an article up saying we jusr missed out on a 15yr old Paraguayan right winger to Chelsea. Blamed it on the financial restrictions from LaLiga, which is obviously bullshit. But goes to show we have to be bullish on these signings we want and not pussy foot with cheapass offers like usual.

Take Andrey Santos for example. Track him for 18 months and offer 8m which is rejected. Media cite that Vasco want 25m+. In the end Chelsea sign Andrey for 12.5, just 4.5 more than our offer.

Andrey scored in his first Serie A game too btw.

His name is Kendry Paez and he's an Ecuadorian midfielder/winger. Might we worth keeping an eye on how he develops.

Chelsea paid 20m and yeah, we could've probably signed him as he won't come to Europe until summer 2025 when he turns 18 so wouldn't need to worry about registering him before that. But we're not really in a position to spend relatively big money on players who can't/won't immediately help the first team.

Also, nice goal by Vitor. Not really a good news for us though as his price will go up with every good performance.

Just seen and it's 12+8 which is much more suitable.

HL wise, incredible talent. But half the appeal is that he is built like a 21 year old already. Let's see how he develops.
