No, first 2 months

Ok, so you can keep him on very low expectations for 2-3 years, that's also another option next to a loan. Vini was a joke around here for 2 years or so. Been at Madrid since... 2018, and only since 2021 he started to deliver.

Main point is you either take it slow with these very young players, or you loan them to a team that deals with much less pressure.

Madrid got Vini in 2018, as CL holders. Being a much better run club, they could afford to let Vinicius develop in healthy conditions. They will probably do the same with Endrick.

I think barca are doing just the same with Roque, but even on very low expectations, there are still some expectations he has to met. Vini was terrible at some things, but everybody could have seen his strengths. Thats not the case with Roque so far.

Well, Roque is not even fully one month in.

Lets see in 1 year or so. I agree he needs to show things, but not quite instantly.

Football isn't the same as it was 1-2 decades ago. The modern game is much more suited for teenagers to breakthrough and make names for themselves on the big stage.

Haaland, Bellingham, Mbappe, Vini, Saka, Musiala, Alvarez, Pedri, Gavi, Foden, Martinelli etc....all broke through in their teenage years and were key players in their respective teams.

Roque is gonna have to start showing something. He looks far too clumsy and invisible on the pitch so far.

Some of those players are tier 1 talents, and cost much more money. You have to realize that 40m is an average fee these days. 15 years ago, paying 40m might have been some big news, but now... far from it.

It seems expensive for us because financially we are a joke these days.

Lol people don't get it.

No one is asking/expecting Roque to carry the team or be one of the regular starters.

Young talents rated highly are expected to show a spark and a few glimpses of their potential.

Like Yamal did when he first got playing time. Like Garnacho has done for United. Like Rashford did for United back in the day or Saka did for Arsenal. Like Balde did last season. Like Cubarsi right now.

Roque has shown zero promise or positive qualities so far. That other Barca striker Guiu has shown way more in the limited minutes he got.

40m is expensive for a teenager from the Brazilian leagues. Very few clubs would invest that much. Even the modern day financial powerhouses like City or PSG haven't spent that much on Brazil league talent. Roque is actually the 5th most expensive transfer ever from the Brazil league.

40m might not be a lot these days for a teenager killing it in Europe's top leagues or in the Euro/World Cup..but Roque doesn't have that to his credit.

Big clubs Invest 30-40m on unproven players all the time.

How do you think likes of Tottenham get to a squad assembled for 850-900m?

Look it up. People would be shocked. How many people heard about some player called Drăgușin here? Just signed by Tottenham for 30m + bonuses.

The only thing Barca fans hope for is that the club is much better managed than the rest and have better eye for talent. This is not confirmed.

Barca are managed ok, but nothing extraordinary.

thank you, exactly what I said. not expecting anything from him but a glimpse of talent that justifies the fee for the age.

Dont think Xavi wanted him in January as said other day and has been making that point with Guiu.

He probably wanted a midfielder but fuck letting him choose one single more player to sign.

Atm he has a lot of pressure, probably even more after seeing that a 2 years younger Yamal is performing better than him. We need to give him 2 seasons.

Remember the difference of 13/14 Ney and 14/15 Ney. In one season guy became 3x better.
