Willing to bet you Zidane himself thinks he is poor tactically and convinced he was mostly carried by his star-studded team. I am convinced he has been doing deep-dive on tactics these last few seasons. That is why we haven't seen much of him(I predicted all this) lately. Good on him though. He is humble in that regard and shows great self-reflection.

Because City are not a poltical club with crooks like Rosell and Bartomeu to give him shit. He is basically the boss there like SAF at United.

It is clear by now that was the case. Those clowns wanted a model built on superstar players like current PSG and this was not compatibile with a manager wanting full control over his team like Pep was and is. You will never see Pep at PSG for the same reason probably.

Publicly, we know Busquets/Raphinha/Pique were complaining. Busquets allegedly thinks the tactics were chaotic, Raphinha confronted Xavi about being subbed off as he didn't make sense of it, and Pique was caught on video coming out of the dressing room saying that the technical staff had their ideas muddled up and weren't giving clear instructions.

Likely there is others too.

Interesting. Two of those have no right to complain. If the tactic is to hold back despite having to attack, it was to compensate for the back five's lack of pace for the counter. Part of that is on Xavi for not playing Frenkie and/or Balde though.

As for Raphinha, missed his chance which you just have to put away at this level and would have changed the game. Worked hard though, just as Ferran Jutgla did without paying audacious money.
