The difference is that we have opened up the midfield by playing a 4-3-3 formation (rather than a 4-4-2), leaving us more vulnerable to continuous counter attacks.

Playing offensively carries more risk, which should be mitigated by our attack functioning as our best defense, but due to a reliance on individual talent (opposed to tactical superiority), it would be more effective closing the gaping holes by reverting back to a 4-4-2, or another defensive formation.

We are being out smarted by a majority of opposition managers. There’s nothing else to it. Our tactics, intensity, element of surprise, transitions, decision making, are way off elite. There a disconnect between our midfield and attack. Few patterns of play, few through balls down the middle.

And Ten Hag may have proven to be inferior to the likes of Pep and Klopp, but he sure as hell is tiers above Xavi and his brother Oscar.

It’s a big joke that our assistant manager is closely related to Xavi. Couldn’t make this shit up.

And I bet Xavi has received instructions from up above to play in style. Why else would he change a formula that worked for him?

Xavi will know all the problems. And it is a adaption curb to being a more attacking side again.

2-0 down to Celta with 15 to go.
2-1 down to Mallorca with 15 to go
2-0 down to Granada, and 2-1 down with 15 to go.

That's a trend.

Got to sort out the defensive system and transitions.

If Koeman had been the one in charge of these disastrous games, he would have been canned a long time ago. Talk about getting a free pass for being Catalan.

True. The team is quite different compared to last year, more offensive oriented, scoring and creating more, but also conceding more goals because players in defense have to solve more duels individually than last year, and they are failing big time.

For me, we are not ready yet for a more offensive system and should go back to the more pragmatic football of last season, even if seen too defensive and "not Barca worthy" by some. I think if we do that we have more chances of pushing for another league title.

Our games are fun to watch for the neutrals this year, but that's not some high praise if you don't win titles. Nobody actually wants us to play nice and end up empty handed at the end, they just claim they do.

At the end of the day, Barca should prioritize winning above aesthetics. Especially when you're clearly not in a position to deliver both.

I get if some disagree and think Barca should be an attacking side at all costs. For me, it's not a problem if for some years you dig deep and play more defensive to win titles during what is clearly a difficult time for the club.

That's what got us last year's big title, and it kind of disappeared this season. The ability to be compact, disciplined, and to pick up points while making few errors is now with Madrid this season. So far at least. Barca are now the opposite. Creating more, but not converting chances. This, culminated with defensive fuck-ups in almost every away game is making us pick-up fewer points. Nobody gives a shit if you win xG battle if the points don't add up in the end.

We will probably be trophyless this season and hopefully Laporta calls time on Xavi and brings in another coach.
Xavi has had enough time. This excuse can't be used anymore. Ditto the injury excuse. Other clubs get hit by injuries too.

That's a huge problem.
Not a big fan of Koeman but he was treated unfairly.

Koeman was sacked because the team was in danger of not making top 4, as it was 9th in the table and not showing any signs of improvement. Move on...

This is not gonna happen. Xavi is gonna be here for years, so you better get used to it.
If he is, we are winning fuck all especially in Europe.
We are struggling against mediocre opposition in a poor league and clowns like you still support him SMH.

You're gonna start barking here about how the fans forced him out if he gets sacked so hold yourself to what you say!!

No. The fans that matter support the team and realize our current situation. He's not gonna get sacked because 10 posters here moan about him. Drop in an ocean really.

Xavi was struggling too when he inherited Koemans squad.
Things only got better when Xavi got a bunch of players in January. Laporta the fat can't didn't give Koeman anything in the summer window.
