As soon as we begin dominating again, fair-weathered fans will make their way back to the Barca forum(s). A few members pointing out our mediocre tactics, relative to our talented squad, has nothing to do with Barcelona forum(s) being unpopular rn.

Spanish football is going through a dark cycle, nothing else to it.

With that said, one key strength of Xavi is how he commands absolute respect from his players. Our squad gives 100 % on the field, and I have yet to read about a single incident, in which a player questioned Xavi’s leadership or authority. This kind of respect wins titles. We see it with Xavi (La Liga), Zidane (3x CL winner), and the list goes on and on. Ten Hag, for example, demands respect, but he hasn’t earned it as a player nor as a manager. Same with Nagelsmann! Talented manager, but some players simply don’t respect him, which causes problems when these dissidents are influential and popular players.

We deserve both. A manager who commands the same level of respect as Xavi and Zidane, but with the tactical astuteness of Klopp or Nagelsmann.

So both ingredients are important. Xavi has one. Will he evolve? I certainly hope so, for the football we have been playing as of late is absolute garbage.

Xavi’s appointment came too soon. He should have been an Assistant under Pep or Arteta for a year or two and then assumed the job at Barca. It’s like trying to solve a mathematical formula without understanding order of operations. Both can solve a problem, but it sure as hell is easier with a strong foundation.

What Xavi needs is a more experienced assistant.
What he lacks in experience should have been found in his coaching staff, someone to challenge him and help him grow. The club should have put that demand forward when he was hired.

Honestly, Xavi has been the opposite of most of the initial worries. Not reliant on amigos, not idealistic and surprisingly pragmatic. We all expected possession for its own sake but he's more direct and ready to give up on possession than anticipated.

I think we are very close to things clicking once everyone gets back. The only real problem in the squad is the lack of a good pivot, which is admittedly a big one.

Yes. Right now it is the inverse of Zidane at Real.

Who doesn’t fight for the team? Any dissidents ala Sancho?
Nobody in the world has a dissident a la Sancho lol

Lewa openly criticized him already on overly negative approach, no matter how full of shit you may think he is on said criticism.
There are areas he or some of his players will disagree no doubt. He's just at the moment fortunate that 99% of the team have no leg to stand on and have own voice in the matter

Give it one or two more terrible results in cups where players will look to him for guidance to command the game well. If gets it wrong, things won't be so rosy

Of course there will be disagreements. But players not whining hence respetc. coming off not wanting to shake hands with xavi. Players that had to leave club haven’t thrown [^{% at him yet.
Xavi has been here for a while. Not uncommon to have incidents in that amount of time. So far nothing, except what lewandowski said according to you.

Aye because they know they're crawling out of a 20 point hole post Koeman, won jack shit to their name and things will take time. I don't disagree this is a feeling being fostered well.

But it's not like he's 'respect' in way they'll ignore repetitive failures and 'trust the process' to end of time. This is not early Klopp

Unless of course they'll take the Birdy pill and think cups are not real competitions etc
That's also possible with Catalan dogmas around

It won't get to that point. If Xavi fails to do well going forward he'll probably resign himself or be told to leave before it gets to that point.

There’s a difference between openly voicing disagreement over tactics (in a respectful manner), and undermining authority ala Bayern players with Nagelsmann. That has not occurred with Xavi. And that is not coincidental.

As far as an early cup exit goes, I agree. Then again, we’ve seen how little criticism Xavi has received from Catalonian media, despite shitshow after shitshow. Most managers would have been lambasted to high heavens by now with our style of play.

Finally, and correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t we start playing 4-3-3 right after Lewandowski openly criticized our tactics?
