The extent of any plan to replace him would be Marquez until end of season probably then praying Pep wants to leave City and take job if wins another CL.

That will be about it.

Why Flick? What has he done that's so special that you would hire him? When he won 2019/20 CL with Bayern he inherited the team from Niko Kovac. Additionally, that season of CL was the strangest one ever. Without spectators and played on one game from 1/4. Next season he went out in 1/4 of CL. With Germany he did absolutely nothing. Why the fuck would he be a good candidate?
Flick has a far more decorated coaching career than Xavi. He was Joachim Loew's assistant for years including their World Cup win. 81% win percentage at Bayern, they lost only one CL game in two seasons and it was that 2-3 to PSG where they should've scored 10, ending up going out 3-3 on away goals.

His Germany stint was bad but they were washed before he arrived and they've got no better since. I don't think he'd be great at Barca more because of his lack of patience for internal politics but certainly much more qualified than being made out.

You're welcome
One of my biggest peeves for long time is seemingly lack of small attacking patterns like 1-2s among to break into box. Lack of runs, players getting ignored when shouldnt, 10 touches on ball to ultimately pass it back, or persistence to find balde to put in faulty cross or pass it all the way back.

Passing and understanding should be way better by now. What do these players do during all the hours spent together on training?

Probably lack of pace on our end plays a big part.

Pep will never return and Marquez is not a solution. He never coached any team except Barca B and even there he hasn't won the game since November. We finally need to learn that this is not the way to go.

Indeed.. that is the point... that would be about extent of 'planning' for post Xavi.

Villarato!
Any worse than Evertons?
No probably not

Just exceptionally funny to see how a club legend long groomed and primed to succeed in the role spectacularly bounces off his dream job and gets binned for a manager making his name with a newly promoted side

Manchester United stuff
Still think OGS was a better manager for them than Xavi for you

I agree we have talented group of young players, but they are made of glass at this stage. And it's only normal when you're overplayed at 16-17 to pick muscle injuries, because of underdevelopment. Pedri is prime example of skinny lad and all of his injuries are muscle related. Dembele had to work on that area, yet the first 3 years he spend mostly injured. Only with Koeman's arrival things started to change. And finally Gavi with ACL, which is again muscle related.

The more I think about it the more I fear Lamine is under huge risk. In a way deliberately ruining our top talents due to financial pressure.

In what way was he 'groomed and primed'?

Overly flowery language there to try and add to point but not really much substance to it.

If anything you should hope he stays longer at this stage.

Xavi looked devastated, his resignation is close it seems. Laporta and Deco will not sack him, they have no other options. Rafa Marquez has not won a single match since November, unlike Sergi Barjuan, he lacks the experience.

Hilarious you think a pyschopath would resign.

He's a Rubiales in sporting respect. He did not create gimpball, the players did.

The only reason I can think of about Flick being a decent candidate for coaching this club is that he has no fucking Barca DNA background bullshit.

If Laporta desires to run for re-election, it is also in his interests that our next manager be the right one. His re-election campaign depends on it. He knows that; we know that.

If we risk CL elimination against Napoli and finishing outside of the top 4 in LL (we do), hiring on a qualified interim Manager until season end should be considered. Why should Xavi be afforded patience when Koeman wasn’t? Would Real Madrid or Chelsea (under Abramovich) move on from Xavi if he were at one of those two clubs?

As someone else mentioned, interim managers oftentimes offer a short-term boost in performance and results. That is exactly what we need rn. Top 4 and to advance vs Napoli.

Two very realistic goals with our talented squad.

How about City’s Assistant Manager as interim? I am serious! Pep respects him, so why shouldn’t we?
