To be fair to Xavi the biggest loss of last season is Dembele and that profile of player and that is not on him for Dembele leaving that is on the board fucking that one
up.

Dembeles pace was a big outlet v Real and he was very very good in the 4-0 and 4-1 wins of last couple seasons.

It is also on him and board that they signed 200+ of players that did not have that pace/dribbling profile when the it was always clear dembele could go.

Spending what they did on Lewa is utterly absurd and rumours salary GOES UP to over 30m next season.. madness.

They genuinely believed Lewa was a 'star name' that would help Barca in all comps and raise profile as that.

Wild.

Exactly. Firing Xavi is independent of how our next manager performs. He, too should be given the same amount of time Xavi has been given to prove himself (unless things go terribly wrong).

If a new coach came in and team were as bad as this he wont last a season and rightfully so.

It’s really a sticky situation to find oneself in when a President hires an inexperienced and unqualified Manager who’s more popular in Catalunya than he is.

Is Xavi even getting the same amount of shit right now as Koeman got at the end of his tenure?

I'm trying to decipher the Raphinha transfer too. Clearly we got that wrong and he is nowhere near the type of player for how we want to play.

Is it on Xavi?

I don't know, but he was Deco client at the time who then becomes our SD.

So does Deco push his client who doesn't suit the manager as an agent (which is fine).

But if he has knowledge that he will be our SD then the whole deal is shady af and doesn't help us.

Serghei again with his apologetics, that have become all the more pathetic
What you don't get, is that It goes way beyond Xavi being a bad coach.

The mistake of pulling levers for letting Xavi decide the players is STRATEGIC and is HUGE, and is all on Laporta. It's not only a title or two lost to Madrid. It's that they are building their squad at the same time slowly and meticulously (see the pieces the last 3-4 years: Tchou last season, tap-in merchant now, Mbape next summer, CBs and full-backs after that), while we wasted the chance to build sustainably

Right now, Laporta's tenure is on track to stabilize Barto's financial sabotage, rather than recover the club.
People didn't get how important the 2021 elections were and bought on nostalgia. The next ones will be the elections where the question whether Barca will be owned by a gulf state or not will be decided.
That's the direction we are heading

Barca is jobs for the boys and the boards always think short term and never want to take tough decisions that may upset public.

For instance lets say Real had Pedri, Gavi and they thought too similar.. they would sell one and move on for better balance in midfield... Barca board.. never would.

Lets say Xabi Alonso gave word he would take job at some point... Barca wouldnt take him as he isnt club legend Xavi and has Real Madrid past.

Barca are run as a political entity to remain in power for as long as can rather than a proper business with decisions for long term good of club.
That's the product of being a membership owned club. Even the socis are desperate to hold on to power to the detriment of the club.

Whole limited term presidency encourages short termism and kicking can down the road. Bartomeu in the crowd all smiles in the Copa del Rey whilst Laporta on the verge of a heart attack trying to deal with the mess he created.

Besides, doubt the club can attract a top manager. The best to hope for is another manager to re-motivate the squad, maybe grab another league title, and leave in 2 years or so.

Taking a chance at someone from La Liga, maybe Michel from Girona, or someone like that is best I can see us doing atm. Or land someone that fucked it up big time at his last job, like Flick maybe, or soon ETH.

De Zerbi could also be an option. He is managing Brighton and not some top CL team.

Bring Mourinho. Results and the style of play won't be worse than Xavi. Atleast the press conferences, substitutions and touchline antics will be entertaining.

I hear he's well respected by Madrid fans and Perez so that would add an extra layer of drama. Imagine Mourinho taking savage digs and trolling Perez and Real.

What about Flick?

Laporta likes him.

Took over Kovac's Bayern which was a dysfunctional one man team and turned them into hyper attacking, dominating, pressing monsters overnight.

Won the sextuple with Bayern. Enjoys great relationship with Lewandowski and definitely rates most of the Barca squad.

Definitely worth a shot.
