In an interview with Catalan paper L'Esportiu translated here: http://grup14.com/story/xavi-barca-is-a-school-of-life-of-values-and-respect-it-s-not-just-football

Some quotes regarding the elections;

The elections are on July 18th. Will you vote?

I don’t think I’ll be able too, our preseason would have started already and we’ll be in Austria for 15 days, but if I could I would vote.

If you could, do you know who you would vote for?

Yes, I have my vote very clear. I know who would be the best for Barça right now.

Some days ago Guardiola confirmed his affections for Laporta. Do you feel the same way?
I have a great friendship with Jan. Our relationship goes beyond football, Barça and politics. I have a lot of things in common with him, he is a reliable person, trustworthy in every sense of the word and has always helped me. I respect every candidate, especially Bartomeu, who has been great to me, but Laporta is a friend.

Is announcing Abidal as sporting director a hit?
Guardiola didn’t have any experience in his day either and look what he did. Experience is what you lived in the football world and Abidal has 15 or 20 career years behind him. I have a great relationship with him and I think that he could do the technical secretary job perfectly. In this sense I think that Éric should have never left Barça, that was a mistake from the club.

Finally someone from inside gives his view on the Abidal disgrace.

I'm not defending his answer, and it sucks to read that, but in all honesty, it must suck to be on the receiving end of that question. The interviewer knew Xavi can't say anything that won't be taken very negatively by someone. He cornered him and that's not very polite.

Cool video.

How great is it that these two legendary midfielders left Europe at the same time, shared their last game here, and no less than a Champions League final, after winning their respective domestic leagues. So happy that both of them had such a grand send-off. It couldn't have played out any better for them, or for the fans.

Xavi is coming to Barcelona to vote. I wonder if he's Laporta's big surprise?

He has a pre-season with his team and previously said he wouldn't be able to come, but says he'll come just for the vote.

Xavi: "Don't know if it'll be in 3 years or in 4, but my goal is to return to Barça, this is my home, but first I need to form myself."

Scored his first goal for Al Sadd.

It's so weird seeing him wearing all white kit. It's like a Real Madrid kit. Ever since I saw him play, I always thought that he would retire wearing a Blaugrana kit, unfortunately, it didn't turn out as I expected.
