Because is a well known fact that Pep cancelled his vacation to convince him to stay..I didn't see him doing that for Ibra, Eto'o or Bojan. Yaya himself said at the time of his leaving that he wanted to be close to his brother..though saying that you left because you wanted to earn as much as Xavi wouldn't have looked as good for cules.

Except coming back from your vacation to talk to him only after months of not talking to him could've been separate issues

We're also conveniently sweeping under the rug that his wages in the first 2 seasons were the lowest on the team weren't they?...He was being massively underpaid and kept performing at a high level then suddenly he was being dropped too?...There's a solid argument there in Yaya's defense, Maria

wait ... please don't tell me there is a "Yaya is better Sergio" bus ... because after every thing Sergio has won, I'm pretty sure that this bus drove off of a cliff around the time that he was hoisting the World Cup ... or was it his 2nd CL Trophy ... I dunno ...

*full disclosure* I was on the "Yaya is better than Sergio" bus until about midway through the 2009-2010 season. at which point I jumped off. I never looked back.

In football, you're only as good as your last match..I would be curious to see the posts made on this thread on 28.05.2011 or 07.07.2010.

You are conveniently forgetting that del Bosque is known to be a Catalan nationalist and that's why he let 21 year old Busquets play the most minutes ahead of all the other Spanish midfielders in the World Cup winning campaign. Because he's homegrown. :pep:

Well, unfortunately, in football terms, Yaya was born in Africa, so sorry if I don't take national accolades in to account.

We have Masch and Busi, Busi is one of the best players EVER to play in that role and completly perfect and integral to the way that Barca play.
Yaya seems like a nice guy and says nice things and thats great, but he should never play here again, we dont need him, he would cost to much money and hes older than the players we have in that role.

The former coach of Real Madrid (who also PLAYED for Real Madrid) is a known Catalan nationalist? Please provide proof for this statement.

All I remember is Yaya's agent trashing Pep since the first day and Yaya not being so great in 2009/2010 as some of cules say he was.

And I will give you an example of someone who actually is at the club of his life, scored the goal that won the league for his team, was underpaid until last year(although his current salary is not extraordinary) and saw how someone better then him or atleast better for what the coach wants from someone who plays on his postition took his place: Higuain. Judging from the way his agent talks in the press and the way Yaya's agent used to talk when he was in Barcelona, I would say that if I were to choose someone who is not a mercenary, I would definitely choose Higgs.

Yep in 2009/2010 he had some awesome(His game against Valladolid comes to mind) games but for most of the part when Pep played he was lazy and didn't bother. That's the main reason I don't like him. He cried and whined how he's not playing enough and when he played he didn't take his chances. Sadly Cules only remember his good games.
