Nah it was three goals. Magical performance though. I feel sorry for him. The national team is so incredibly bad right now.
He's enjoying the status of a demigod in his country now, which is probably more satisfying than any of the trophies, so if at all I felt sorry for the lad, it would be because he didn't get to win CL or Ballon d'Or... Definitely not because he didn't get to win anything with the NT! I mean not every body enjoys the luxury of, say, Fernando Torres!!
He's obviously never gonna win anything with it. But he never had an honest chance in a world cup. During 2002 (as an inexperienced 20 year old) he played around three minutes agaianst Argentina and 45 minutes against Senegal. And in 2006 he was not only in his worst form of his career but also injured. Never really got a proper chance there either.
They never made it so South Africa and by the looks of it they're not gonna make it to Brazil either.
Oh well, at least he did good on the Euros. Not something you often hear by pundits but he's actually one of the top scorers of all time there. Only Platini and Shearer have scored more. And still he is often bashed for not performing in "the big games"...
As for the Ballon d´Or...well, normally he would have won it by now. But he's unlucky to be playing in a generation with both Messi and Ronaldo.
He's probably gonna end up on a 10th place in the Ballon d'Or this year anyway. An absolute joke that he's never been in the top 5.
Nah, his record is not even THAT great tbh. The top scorer is Sven Rydell (played between 1923 and 1932) with 49 goals in 43 apps.
Larsson scored 37 in 106 apps. I think he's the 4th best of all time.
He was. He was also more spectacular to watch. But was he a better player? No, not really.
I was actually hoping he'd finally be in the top 3 during the last ballon d'Or. He was the Serie A top scorer, incredible statistics on whoscored (I know it's flawed, but still) only surpassed by Messi & Ronaldo. He performed really well in the CL, performed even better at the Euros. Only to move to PSG, and score 18 in 16 Ligue 1 apps, score important goals for Sweden, put 4 against England. And besides that, being an incredible provider of goals as well.
He finished in 10th place that time. Didn't even make the team of the year.
EDIT: Before the shitstorm arrives; no I'm not saying he's the best. Just saying that based on the last two years he's arguably been the third best player in the world.

Votes were already in when he destroyed England. Ibrahimovic is right saying you get a shitload of hype when you own the English (e.g. Falcao vs chelsea--> ballon d'or 2012)
Problem is since Zlatan have been doing well Messi and Ronaldo have always been up there, he also normally doesn have cl accomplishments to back up hype for a high placing (like Ribery or any Bayern player now), at this point what he has done is not more impressive than Rvp for United.

Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo..... they certainly deserve more the ballon d'or than Ibra!
I was hoping that Tata would have been a fan of Ibra and given him another ( fairer) chance with us .

Not about to happen, it will always remain a dream for you. Messi's position and role won't change. And it isn't only about position but Ibrahimovic is a very arrogant character and wants to be the main star of the team, he doesn't accept of being the shadow of someone other in his team. Obviously this won't change with Messi too. Signing him was the biggest mistake it could ever be, 46 mil and Eto'o who still was ideal for the attack was just a crime.
