Just read somewhere that he's of Dutch ancestry #TheMoreYouKnow
Yup.

Any Bundesliga fans familiar with the German language may have noticed that the young keeper's surname does not have a typically German ring to it. The shot-stopper confirmed as much in 2009 when he was a still playing for Germany's Under-17s. "It's true [that it sounds a little odd]. The name is of Dutch origin," he said. There was never any danger of ter Stegen switching allegiances to the Netherlands, however. "I've only got a German passport," he said.

Did they hold a competition for who can ask the most cringe worthy and retarded questions at Marc's press conference? :shakeshead:

Felt so sorry for the guy. :console:

Why do they bring up Courtois every time? He doesn't suit Barca, can't pass even if his life depended on it...don't like him, not even a bit, hope he goes to Chelshit

by the way, MATS has a strong personality, bet he doesn't give a shit about anything the press/media says

12m for Stegen, great transfer by the board

Though, I think I heard the official say that Barca used an opt out clause on ter Stegens contract for 18 mil euros.

As for the questions at the press conference. --->
It's also interesting that there are questions about his age when every Barca official and Luis Enrique told everyone that they want to form a new team with younger players.

Watched his press conference, he looks very calm and knows what he wants. He also looks confident.
Really appreciate the lad, hope that he'll succeed.

Unfortunately, this is the sad state of affairs of the club - undermining even the new signings by local media...For the bandwagoners, Laporta's reign did not have such poor presentation of new signings - perhaps there was a reason for all the spying accusations

No offence to the guy.. but Barca cannot have him number 1.. 9 clean sheets in 34 games in Germany. Bundesliga is not a high goal scoring league either compared to La Liga or BPL for example. Hopefully when they posted the update about a week ago with Pinto out, Stegan in they were referring to him replacing the number 2 keeper's role.

Bundesliga 2013/2014: 3.13 goals per game

La liga 2013/2014 : 2.75 goals per game

BPL 2013/2014: 2.77 goals per game

No it's not a "high goal scoring league" :VdB:
