You misunderstood me, By trajectory I meant judging which area of the goal the player will most likely shoot at (based on player position and which foot he'll use to shoot, And which side the defender is hassling him), Didn't mean by it the Ability to judge where the ball will end up after already seeing it moving the air.

My mistake, caught it on the reread.

That can be read by a world class keeper as well in some cases. Neuer is one of the best at it.

Seen Neuer get beat by plenty of shots he doesnt move for as well and ones that would be judged as 'freezing'.

Obviously. All keepers get beaten by good shots. Some more often than others, which is where the difference is being made. This is why Neuer starts for Germany and Stegen is a sub.

That is not the point though the point is that Neuer is the better keeper but he does not get judged in the same way in terms of 'freezing' etc. There is not another keeper that gets called up on thing Stegen does at times.

Todays goal being a prime example. It started a Ter Stegen debate which is crazy.

Stegen is not blamed for freezing because he sometimes is caught cold when someone has a superb shot. All keepers have experienced this sensation. But because he does it a bit too often for a supposedly world class keeper. That's all.

I agree the debate shouldn't happen today. But it's not without reason that the debate exists.

i'm telling a simple criterian to distinguish a world class keeper from a non world class keeper. There is no divided opinion and back and forth arguments when it comes to the former. The fact that the discussion is intense and dense in this thread tells you all there is to know about how good he is. He's not a great keeper.

No other keeper gets called on it and keepers do similar all the time.

Again, some more than others. World class keepers don't do similar all the time. Only very rarely. I've rarely seen De Gea being stunned by long range shots that aren't perfectly placed for example.

They do it and never get called on it.

It is massively overplayed this 'freezing' thing for Ter Stegen.

What goals are you saying Ter Stegen has done that for that de gea doesnt?

He's a top 10 keeper imo. Which is good enough. It's hard for us to get a better keeper, because the ones that are better can't be signed, and because we have other positions which need fixing, way ahead of the GK position.

it does. because the division in opinion doesnt concern performances here (even neuer can have the odd bad performance) but it concern his class as a keeper. You would never find 2 football fans arguing if neuer or degea or cetch is a great keeper or not.

It doesnt mean anything as no one is arguing over one specific point such as who is better.

Real fans disagree about Navas and have booed him. Must make him shite.

Rulli, Kepa, Rico, all fairly young, put any one of them in Barca and they will perform better than ter stegen. We should have cashed in on him when City were willing to buy him
