One can rely on cules to make up a name for a problem they invented.
What the fu** is "Freezing"??!!

Today's goal, CR and asensio's goals all were powerful shots with fast speeds and with an almost impossible way to judge their trajectories.
The only way I see them being saved is by Marc already figuring out where the ball is headed before actually seeing where the ball is headed, AKA psychic abilities, Which will make him the most valuable footballer in history, I mean how much of a price someone will give to a player that can see the future. :worthy:

Not criticizing MATS, but that logic makes no sense. I'm pretty sure the entire job of a GK is to judge where the ball is going and stop it before it gets there. The laws of physics basically guarantee that, yes, you can judge a trajectory of a moving object.

Today's goal was just too fast for him to physically contort himself and reach it. The other ones are situationally dependent. If it's close enough that he can possibly get to it in time then he should make an effort.

He is nothing but an average keeper. Been following Barca ardently since the mid 90s and there hasn't been more overrated goalkeeper here.

Not for me.

To me he is better than Valdes was across his career and is in top ten keepers in world. Something which Valdes was only really in last couple years when he still made a lot of fuck ups.

Better than others before that as well.

You do realize Mats haven't had one great season as full Barca keeper. And some guys consider him among the best? Really...

Would say he is in top ten in world based on the player he is just now.

Among the best I wouldnt say so as that for me would be de gea, Neuer etc and he isnt there.

Although they do many of the things he does and dont get crucified for it as well.

Some of the long range goals he lets in would be saved by better keepers. Asensio's goal on Bernabeu is one of them. Not the case here though, so I'll blame him when it's actually the case. The Getafe player volley is unsaveable. Not even De Gea would save that.

I don't think he's in top 5 in La Liga let alone World. Take the name from him and the hype and he's just an ordinary keeper with good footwork.

OK I totally disagree and think he is second only to Oblak in La Liga.

Not based on hype. Based on performances it what I am judging it on.

I think Navas is better.

They both similar in certain aspects, but Navas pulls off more match winning saves.

Perhaps we need a new GK coach because something isn't right. Ter Stegen not been rated highly by everyone in Germany for no reason, but his development not going in the right direction or the best way IMO.

When it comes to GKs around the World, these are the ones I rate higher than MAtS in no particular order when it comes to pure goalkeeping:

Neuer
Buffon
de Gea
Navas
Oblak
Lloris
Courtois

He is the best goalkeeper I've seen wearing Barcelona's shirt (I am watching Barca games since Roberto Bonano's times).

With me, when I start to think one is better than the other, he messes up the next game, proving me they are the same. Navas just does slightly more top saves than Stegen for me overall.

Navas lets in goal v Messi no one mentions it being bad goal keeping.

Stegen lets in similar goal v Dybala and he gets slaughtered.

I wouldnt have Navas ahead of him.

Dybala's 2nd goal was not Stegen's fault, but Messi's shot was closer and better placed. It's a harder shot to stop imo.

You misunderstood me, By trajectory I meant judging which area of the goal the player will most likely shoot at (based on player position and which foot he'll use to shoot, And from which direction the defender is placing the pressure), Didn't mean by it the Ability to judge where the ball will end up after already seeing it moving the air.
