Difference between Mendy and ter Stegen is that this was an isolated incident/mistake for Mendy while there's literally a YouTube comp of ter Stegen making big blunders. Like that shot he conceded vs. Bayern.

Yes all keepers make mistakes. But issue is the frequency at which you do it.

But MATS doesn't make mistakes at more of a frequency than other keepers. That's the point. You could watch full games of other top keepers and they all have some shortcomings and lol-worthy errors at roughly the same frequency

Mendy been good but as usual all errors ignored more or less and all MATS amplified.

Mendy at weekend below.. ten seconds in.. folk be talking about that for a week if MATS even though dont score.

First one if MATS concedes it would be 'centre of goal and slow to react. Seen them saved'

Second one MATS would get slaughtered for not spreading himself.

Third would get anilhilated for not stopping and that tame effort to palm ball into the goal.

Mendy is in his 3rd season for a big club. Give him some time. He'll have his compilations too if he can cut it at a top club for as long as MATS.

Maybe you are right for some. But pretty confident not the case with Courtois Allison Navas or Neuer. Happy to be proven wrong since Ter Stegen is here to stay for a few seasons more.

Stegen would have been crucified.

Stegen needs competition. He was at his best when we had Bravo. Neto not real competition. We need to sign some hungry second goalkeeper.. someone who could become better than Stegen.

True. They seem to happen more often than we think sometimes.

Actually, Mendy messed up today, Neuer messed up huge, Gerard missed by few meter and DonnaRumma cost PSG their CL journey..

All top goalies in my book, but they all messed up.

I guess mistakes happen to best of them.

Courtois has been lately very good. Probably the best right now imo.
