Thinking about this logically no way does Messi sort out his own taxes. If there's a problem with how its been filed its the accountants fault. Only way Messi could get in trouble is if he's ordered the accountant to do that.

^ Sounds good. If this was true and in danger of coming out, I doubt Messi would publicly deny it (would do more damage in the end to his image than admitting and apologizing, like Hoeneß did).

He isn't the first athlete to be investigated, Belgian cyclist Tom Boonen payed a 2 million € fine last year to the Belgian taxoffice.

Everyone tries to evade taxes, it's a common practice. Another thing is when you get caught and can't afford to pay the fines. Which Messi if found guilty, obviously can.

He wouldn't be the first to try avoid paying taxes. If there was a 100% safe method to avoid paying taxes without ever getting caught everyone would use it.
