Event organizers pull that shit all the time. They sell very expensive VIP packages for non-existent meets & greet sessions and such things, either in hope of later persuading the star to come and say hi to the fans, or without any intention of organizing such a thing at all. These get sold out quickly, and usually there's no refunds, so the organizers did well for themselves.

Lionel Messi has every day been training - running and working out in the gym - for two hours during his summer holidays. #fcblive [sport]

This guy. Only growing stronger. Anyone else getting goosebumps?

I am. Only wishing him to save some of the running during the games. ;)

Not at all. All discussion seems to be about who will be the 2nd best. Ronaldo or a Bayern player?

No, this year not a chance, some Bayern player will take it

No chance. Because of the simple fact that no one can clearly name Bayern's standout player. Who was it? Schweinsteiger? Müller? Ribery? Robben? They will all take away votes from each other. While almost everyone will name Messi in his top 3 votes regardless, even if not as clear #1. For example:

Vote A:

1. Schweinsteiger
2. Messi
3. Robben

Vote B:

1. Ribery
2. Messi
3. Schweinsteiger

Vote C:

1. Müller
2. Messi
3. Iniesta

Vote D:

1. Ribery
2. Schweinsteiger
3. Messi

Vote E:

1. Robben
2. Messi
3. Ribery

That would still give Messi the most points despite him not being named as #1 by anyone. Bayern will accummulate a lot of votes but not a specific Bayern player. Predictable.

Don't worry, Messi will save us against Bayern. If not on the pitch then at least on the podium. :messi:

That actually begs the question: is Messi going to play against Bayern or is he on vacation and Barca only turn up with the b-team?

Do you guys think there are possibilities of him not winning the Ballon d'Or for this year?
Not really, he was again clearly best individually and carried Barcelona to La Liga win Maradona Napoli style, broke numerous unbelievable records and last but not least carried Barca to CL-semifinal still being unfit. That's something I haven't seen before.

Nobody from Bayern deserves it individually, and Cronaldo again isn't close.

I think it will be

1. Messi
2. Ribery
3. Cronaldo

However, the negative press and overall hype surrounding Bayern and Dortmund might change perception, especially of the journalists.
