this. Because then when he's not fit and struggling through it he comes off as whiny and kind of like an asshole on the pitch when it could very well just be that he's in pain and should be on bench.I don't really blame him if he's not fully fit, but for fuck's sake, if he's not 100%, then play someone who is! It's bad for the him, for the team and for the outcome.

Messi isn't any player, when he's in a bad form (I'm not sure how is this a bad form) you keep playing him till he regains it. Subbing him off or even dropping him isn't gonna help at all. You do this with other players Not Leo.
He's in a bad form, but there's room to talk about the reasons behind his bad form. Many here say it's just about the injury. I think there's more. I even think it's about a lack of hunger in his special case. It's the champions syndrome. You win, win, win, win, trophy after trophy, until you get bored of winning. Watch Alexis, the guy is desperate to prove something. Messi, on the other hand, has already been where Alexis is trying to get. He has seen and won all there is to win in football, except the World Cup, that's a sensation he's yet to experiment. Maybe Messi has reached to the point where he can be motivated by special things only.
Think about it, Messi has been playing super-football since 2008. That's 5 years in a row now - a standard prime period for any athlete. Maybe he's not an extraterrestrial player anymore, "just" a great, great player. That's good enough for me and I can accept it.
About the bolded parts. Messi has to realise he is not trying hard enough and he can do much better. I've seen him walk on the pitch like he was going to the supermarket, when Alexis and Neymar where both trying to free themselves, to make room and receive the ball in favorable positions. Not Messi, he was still walking. It's just the effort I'm talking about here, pure effort.
Several times he was way - and I mean way - offside and he didn't even bother to get back in play and receive the ball. Messi or no Messi, that's not a winning attitude. Now, maybe he is not fit. If that's the case, I can understand it and we should all give him a break, because he's earned it. But if he feels fit and doesn't give 100% just because he doesn't bother to, or doesn't think he needs to give everything vs. some regular La Liga teams, then we have a problem. ALL PLAYERS ARE TO BE TREATED EQUAL. Messi is a brilliant, brilliant player, but no player is bigger than the team. I stand for this even if it may upset some people.

Messi is such a great player than everyone in the entire world(media basically) are getting worried because of 3-4 goal less games while everyone didn't even care to notice Cristiano when he struggled in the first few games this season.
So true. As I said, Ronaldo didn't score in the first few matches of this season, but people still think he is worthier of winning the Ballon D'Or this year than Messi. Because wheen Ronaldo, or any other player doesn't score for 2-3 matches, it's business as usual. When Messi doesn't score for 3-4 matches, he's A) not trying hard enough B) injured C) not trying hard enough or simply in a deep crisis. Just shows how unearthly his normal standards areMessi is such a great player that everyone in the entire world(media basically) are getting worried because of 3-4 goal less games while everyone didn't even care to notice Cristiano when he struggled in the first few games this season.
