No point criticising when everyone will get defensive and call you a troll. Give it up, guys.

What are you going to criticize him for tonight? Lack of finishing? All players have off days, no matter how good you are. And yes, his finishing has been very rusty this season. But he tried, he tried very hard. Today he was very different from a couple of days ago when he didn't even bother to try. I was very mad at him because of that, but I can't find myself criticizing him tonight.

Wow, belittling Messi's achievements has really reached new heights. At least now I'm absolutely certain what your agenda is, so I won't bother taking your statements into account for a second.

If there's one scorer that statement almost entirely doesn't apply to, it's Messi. Enjoy.

Then you must have problems understanding what single-handedly means. Unless there is two Messi, one that passes the ball to him, and the other who scores, it's impossible for Messi to single-handedly win a match.

I think you can say that a player single handedly wins a match if he is 95% of the reason that his team won.

Yet he has done that several times. Also many other players. It's quite possible.

go watch 50% of the games last season and the season before that

That statement is such an exaggeration and such a diminishing of other players' merits it's not even worth responding.

No player wins matches on his own. Barcelona Arsenal 4-1, Messi scored four times. Valdes has a great save when the score was 1-0 for Arsenal. Pedro had an amazing assist for Messi's 2nd goal. Keita also has a huge part in the 3rd goal, leaving Messi in 1 vs. 1 with Almunia.

Messi never single-handedly won us games. For someone to single-handedly win games, it would mean that it was he who blocked every shot, who saved every shot, who intercepted every ball, who made all the passes, who made all the runs, who made all the assist and scored all the goals. Which is not possible. Messi has changed games for us, true, but no one has every won a game single-handedly. That's impossible in a team sport..

There were several games during Pep's last season where Messi was keeping us in the title race more or less by himself.
