@catilinutz I think it's a knee jerk reaction to say he has lost speed and agility, he hasn't had a Ronaldo type injury. He's also looked great for his national side. Any talk of a decline in ability should be left until December when the World Cup and first few months under Lucho will have passed. I'm hoping Brazil will reignite him and the rest of our players.

The only thing that looks visibly worse to me is his finishing. His conversion rate is down heavily.

I just think that it's funny that even after almost 5 months since he came back , some people are still saying that he doesn't play as he once did , just because of the injury , or the World Cup or any other lame excuse but ignoring the fact that he could just as well have already declined. Oh Messi is playing bad ...that's probably because it's sunny outside and the sun is going in his eyes , or that it's too cold outside , or that he ate just before the game and now he's full.

Reality check , he's lost his speed , his agility , his acceleration. People are saying that he doesn't perform as well as a couple of years ago because of the parked busses or tactics. Even though teams do park the buss against Barca , and they did this season , it was nothing compared with the way they did 2 seasons ago when Real won the title. Plus , besides the parked busses , they even let the grass grow as long as they coud. I remember that some fields even had flowers in them  . Despite these things Messi was a beast. Even though he was right in the middle of the buss , he still managed to score constantly.

People were arguing even then that he is lazy but he ran more than he does these days and he had outstanding finishing skills ( thing that it seems he's also lost these days ) . He just had only a couple of shots per game but still managed to score 2-3 goals. The team was playing like shit but he carried all of them on his back.

Those days he still came to the midfield to receive a pass but compared to these days , he didn't really care how many defenders were in front of him , he took them all and made them his bitches.

This video is from 2012.

Plus , he's not a quitter . He always gave his soul on the field against big teams. In the last 3-4 big games this season he was CRAP ( compared to his standards ) and looked like he seriously didn't care , just walking around minding his own business. Seriously , what's with this shit. If he tries more , he's still nr 1 in the world but he's long way behind the Messi considered the best in history.

Messi untill 2012 , beginning of 2013 was a God . These days he looks uninteresed , lazy , bored , exhausted and vomits every 5 games , God knows why.

 Great post.

I just hope he gets back to his standards. I hope we will see the messi we know in next season with the new coach and a few transfers.

Yes. But almost no one cares about that... The amount of knee-jerk reactions he's getting is insane. Like it's all his fault.
Yet, if his legit goal had stood, he'd probably be hailed as a hero by the same people.

Look at the muppetry in this forum over the past year, a Barcelona forum no less...The biggest thing missing, IMHO, in this era and that of Laporta's is leadership

Couldn't have said it any better. Although it has to be said that the general point of view of Barcelona fans IN Catalonia is often very different to the pov of Barça Forum. I haven't been to Catalonia in recent months but I can imagine the locals not blaming Messi as much as people on here do. Most of shit is just coming from the "press" AS, Marca, Sport & MD.

It is true that Messi doesn't look as per usual but for some reason people don't seem to understand that in order to perform out of this world, the entire set up has to be world class. Has FC Barcelona starting from the board, to the manager, to the players been world class this season? Far from it.

People in camp nou hissed at Messi so it's not only by some on this forum.

Messi said on chinese social media Weibo that he apologizes to the fans for the bad season and he's happy to stay, but if the people of Barcelona don't want him, he'll find a solution because he always wants the best for the club.

I'm scared. :(

The last sentence really had a lot of people scratching their heads. So many speculations. What did he mean by that? If he doesn't perform in the next couple of seasons and cules want him out, he then will consider leaving?

I didn't hear anything. Besides, what you just say is something I never even said. Of course there are also people in Catalonia how are doubting Messi. I'm saying there's less doom and gloom and the amount of people who do doubt/criticise him will be a lot lower than on here.

Especially the constant from "GOAT to should sell for 200M" mood swings on here are even worse than the ones of a feminist going through menopause.
